I wouldn’t say “I know you have a class period free” I can come off as creepy to some. Instead just say “im free right now and was wondering if you’d have lunch with me”

OP please follow this advice

Bingo

This!

OP said he knows because she told him once, so I don't think it's creepy in that case, or is it still the case ? Although I still think it's not necessary to mention that he knows she had a free period.

It’s all about risk/reward, both questions accomplish the same goal, so no reason to even bring it up
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I did this advice and she said yes! She also has a boyfriend sadly, but we still went and ate and got along pretty well. We could be good friends (:
[–]awkwardrunner11 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That’s awesome dude I’m glad it worked! Who knows what the future holds, definitely stay in contact with her 👍🏾
[–][deleted] 15 points16 points17 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah that should be fine, have a little bit of a conversation with her first and then deliver your line as a statement "hey (name) I'm going to get some lunch, you should come with".
Whether or not she accepts your invitation you should continue to approach and talk to women around your campus to avoid developing oneitis (obsessing over one girl). Approaching and talking to women in university is really easy you can just say something like "hey can I sit here" and then ask her what classes she's taking, major etc.

Don't say, "I know when you're free so you BETTER go out with me" that may freak her out. Just hint you're not trying to use her and treat her well
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I would never say “you better go out with me” lmao
[–]18Mandrake_R00T5 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
If she didn't TELL you personally about her schedule that's kinda what it 🤷 implies guy haha
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
No. I did talk to her about it and she has told me that’s her free period. I asked because I was wondering if she had to walk as far as I did to our next class cause I’m literally always late lol
[–]FlanneryODostoevsky 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Dont twll her you know her schedule. Just ask her if shes down for lunch.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
I only know because she told me
[–]CLAPPERSFARGO 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Even if she did, it might come off as you trying to trap her into saying yes. She has to say yes because she has nothing else to do. That’s the way i see it but i could be off
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
What would you suggest
[–]CLAPPERSFARGO -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
“Hey (name), I’m getting lunch at (time + place) and remembered that you also have a free at the time. Would you like to join me?”
[–]FlanneryODostoevsky 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Ita more about not seeming preoccupied with it. If you could say it casually then cool. Mpre lile "since we both aint got shit to do now, lets get lunch or coffee" rather than "i know you dont have shit to do now so lets have lunch."
[–]DanielHoestan 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
Not bad not bad. Here’s a trick that will definitely help you. Instead of asking her to get lunch. Say this; Hey name, I know that you are free after class, lets get lunch together (smile)
By just saying it instead of asking it your are taking away her option of saying no.
This technique is used alot in sales. Here are two other options.
Instead of asking “do you wanna go on a date?” You just say, be ready at 8pm, and Im gonna take you to the most epic date that you’ve had all your life.

I feel like I'm in-between on this advice
[–]lunaokazul 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
It’s actually a very good psychological trick. It makes the person feel like they can’t say no in a non-threatening way. It also intrigues them. Ofc it also depends on the vibe and interactions prior to this, as op tells, it sounds like they have a chill connection so him telling her that most probably will work
Edit: to make it simple, him saying “let’s have lunch together” is a lot less threatening than saying “we’re going to have lunch together after class”. The former gives her the feel that she has to say yes but still has the option to say no. It’s also less rude to say it in that way. “Let’s have lunch” is still an option.
If op knew she likes him back then telling her the latter isn’t as rude or threatening anymore. Like I said, depends on the interactions prior.

They shouldn't feel like they can't say no. I find it more intriguing when I have a choice in terms of how they propose it. Also usually I am surprised and flattered anyway if someone has taken out time/courage to ask me out in person. So it's kind of good to be respectful, because I'm already intrigued

It's not like trapping her, if a woman doesn't want to go out with you. No matter what the guy says, she will say no, or make up an excuse "sorry, I have to study"
But when a guy stops asking and starts making statements, it comes off as way more confident.
How attractive would you be to a guy if he started asking you for permission for things
"Do you want to go out?"
"Do you want me to hold your hand?"
"Do you want to sit here?"
"Do you want to go to this restaurant?"
"Do you like this kind of food?"
it shows a whole lot of uncertainty.

Well I don't even mean it in a political/social way if you're leaning into it that way. I just mean if it's a psychological trick it works in reverse. I like it when someone asks and is accommodating to my needs/what i think. Allows you to be more enthusiastic because you choose to do something. Well some of those things are further on within an interaction so there would be mutual attraction and it wouldn't be needed
100 percent agree with this. If you go about of
"Do you want to go out with me?"
It makes the girl want to second guess herself and she will more then likely say no
But if you go about as
"Hey come with me to grab lunch"
You are now taking the lead and showing confident, she is more inclined to say yes

This will be somewhat controversial on here, but imo going for this instant date, especially as a beginner, is a bad idea. It can make her feel trapped and it can also take away the mystery/intrigue about you. It's better in general to ask her to meet up some other time.

"Is this a good way to approach this woman"
Yes, just any approach will take you closer to your goals. If you don't get her number or can't take her to date / to your bedroom you will still be one experience richer.
However, I'd just ask her number and ask if she's free on Friday for some drinks. Good luck.

?
[–][deleted] 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Wtf
Just say hey, talk a bit then pause and say "hey, I'm about to grab food at (random location) your should come"
I already asked her. She said yes! She also said she had a boyfriend sadly :(. We still went though and talked and we get along pretty well
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Experience for next time... But I would keep it platonic with her. Be her friend, sleep with her hot friends
She is the hot friend:(
She'll have hotter friends be patient
