In addition to approaches, you should also look to expand your social circle in other ways. If you have a high paying solitary job you need to invest in yourself by putting yourself out there in other parts of your life. Take a dance class, cooking class, join some type of social group, social type of gym (not too much a fan of crossfit but they have great social aspect), etc. These types of things will help you be better at approaching and it will be easier.
With the income you have, dont lead with your wallet but always remember to invest in yourself, so upgrade your wardrobe, get in gym, quality food, grooming, fix your teeth asap if needed, get your own place for logistics or maybe a roommate at first, and have an active lifestyle will get you much better chance for what you are looking for. Start with this tomorrow near the end of the day, if you're at a professional job with some decently smart people.
"So I heard when Socrates and Plato were at the ancient Greek philosophy school that Plato told Socrates, because he was the new guy, some new guy wisdom that has lasted for centuries. anyone know what it was?" Let people guess a few times then say, " the first day on the job the new guys buys the first round of beers, (big smile right here) lets go get some beer people." Then go do it!
