Lamborghini's are impractical. You can't carry anything. They may be pretty to look at, but you can't do much with them. They'll sit in the garage most of the time gathering dust.
Most women in this world want an SUV. You can carry the groceries, the kids, and maybe a dog or two. Get a lot more use out of that SUV than a Lamborghini. Apparently, Beyonce's fave car is a Cadillac Escalade... an SUV.
Be the SUV. Function over fashion.

That seems to be the subtext of this post, too. Want someone that turns heads? Yeah, she's gonna be in the gym for five hours a day ignoring you, and you gotta be okay with that. While still putting in the work yourself.
Though, I guess that depends on whether you're renting or owning. Which is a very weird way to phrase that.
Maybe I'm getting old, but I'd pass on a drop dead gorgeous babe in favor of a cute girl that can hold a conversation.

Function over fashion? I think we can do better than an Escalade. You know what I'm talking about! That's right, toilet paper. Everyone wants it, and boy does it get a lot of ass. Be the toilet paper.

What?
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
What is there to not understand? This is about “you get what you put in.”
If you don’t put in the effort yourself, you’re gonna get nothing or you’re just gonna end up always settling for less in life.

I apologize for not getting the gist of your long, rambling mediocre metaphor.
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
You’re clearly bitter cause you’ve always settled for less. I empathize for you I suppose 🤷🏻♂️

That must be it.

I don’t know why there’s so much hate on this post. I love the metaphors you used in it, keep it up king 🔥
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Cause the ones hating on this post feel like they’re being called out cause they don’t put the work in themselves and end up settling for less. Not my fault 🤷🏻♂️

I never liked this metaphor. I don't want to think of people as no more than commodity on a market. Of course supply & demand play a role, but there's more to people than quantifiable qualities.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
You get what you put in. When you put in more work, you’ll get a bigger reward. Proven facts.
If you don’t invest in yourself then you’ll either get nothing or you get the bare minimum that will never give you true fulfillment.

Still not true. I know many people who just had a good upbringing with mostly positive influences, who grew up to have a healthy confidence, and also have above average looks. These people are almost always in relationships with attractive and also mentally healthy SOs.
On the other hand, I know people (me included), who had a shitty childhood with lots of trauma, and who worked their asses off to improve themselves in looks, finances, social skills, etc., but due to their self-defeating psychological issues still struggle at dating.
The world is not that simple.
Ok well this could easily branch out to all elements of ones upbringing. There are people who had it just as bad if not worse than you and ended up being successful still.
Some had to work harder than others yes, I agree there but the root element is that you’ll get more when you put in more work in yourself. That is the constant here.

This metaphor does not fully work even if the sense is still understandable. It's more complicated than mentioning Beyonce and a 9-5 guy, because both of them probably does not share a lot of similar values in life. Of course being well known and having wealth is a good indicator of success, but it's worth to mention that there are a LOT of different ways to achieve different kinds of success.
It's just that different success attract different girls, same way that building your own car engine from scratch would be fucking impressive and respectable even if you'ld be a broken guy.

And do you think that I care who what wants? It works both ways
