Thanks for the information. I keep saying I am going to get on Tinder but keep procrastinating.
[–]hunterpua 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Well the information here may help with Tinder but not procrastination.
One of the ways to get over procrastination is to just put yourself in the place that has the activity you're putting off. Like if you want to work out, you shouldn't worry about working out, you should just worry about getting your ass to the gym.
Since Tinder isn't a place, all you need to do is download the app. Don't worry about anything else, just get Tinder on your phone.

I tried and it requires a facebook profile. I am definitely not fond of fb and don't have one. But, if I decide to get one, I'll be sure to jump on Tinder. Thanks again.

That was years ago. You can use your mobile number now.

Thanks man, I didn't know this. I'm the Tinder game now!! Will keep you all updated.

I think Tinder coded that into the app to incentivize the use of the Boost but hey, 10 Boosts is only worth $2 so its a small price to pay.
How old are you?
I paid 15 for 5 boosts. Promptly deleted the app afterwards. 28 y/o.

I think tinder doesn't work well for guys outside of college in most areas. I'm about your age and can't even match with girls half as attractive as the ones that stare at me IRL.

Any idea how to find a photographer for photos? I don't know any personal friends who are into photography, no problem paying a pro but I feel like it would be really awkward to have them take shirtless photos and whatnot, but I've never used a photographer so idk.
[–]hunterpua 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
If you google photographers in your area it will be more pricey but less awkward because they'd be really professional about it, if you look for guys on Craigslist it'll be cheaper but maybe more awkward because the guys you'd find there might be a little lacking in experience.

Really good guide. Can you possibly also make a summary of like 20 smaller techniques or findings in Tinder that you found working well, such as when not texting for hours is good, superlikes, good openers, good bios?
Its all in the OP, man.
Good openers? "Give me your number" and "Truth or dare" that's it.
You shouldn't think about spending much time on Tinder and gaming her there, that's just not a good strategy.
Good bios? Anything that'll filter out time wasters like I gave in the OP. And like I said in the OP, a bio will never be better for getting right swipes than good pics will. I can't tell you how many times I've been opened by girls saying "Your dog is sooo cuuuute!!!" and responding with, "Thanks, he's my best wingman" or you know, stuff like "hey handsome" when I use the photo of me playing with a yoyo shirtless. So don't even put any effort into your bio if you aren't gonna use it to filter girls.
Here's a new tip I just learned this week though for people who really want to minimize their time on the app: Get Tinder Gold. With Tinder Gold you'll see everyone who swiped right on you so you won't even need to spend any time swiping randomly, you can simply pick from those that already like you.

I don't have the patience tonight to read through all of this.
Just going to ask probably a dumb question.
Can you make an average looking guy (who can only list 5'9" as his height) look good enough in a photo, to meet women from Tinder?
Is there a way to effectively hide thin/fragile arms without getting buff?
[–]Lambdal7 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
A thin build makes it hard to attract a woman in any case. That's what's probably holding you up.
However, if you are ripped as fuck, sometimes you don't need to do anything and women come to you.
Muscles aren't everything, but they make everything A LOT easier.
[–]Aeon199 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
I just don't get it though. In some cultures it doesn't matter at all. I see Indian women with fragile thin guys all the time. The same goes for Asian women, you don't see them with buff guys (or it's very rare.)
Why does it have to be like this here in America? WTF
[–]Lambdal7 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Several reasons.
All in all, it's about comparison.
95% of Asian men aren't buff? Then, only 1 in 20 men has a big advantage over you that steal many hot girls, but there are still hot girls left.
40% of western men are buff? Then 4 in 10 men already have a big advantage over you that steal all the hot girls and there are only the not hot girls for all the scrawny men left.
In any case, not being buff drastically reduces your chances. You need to get buff before you do anything else.
[–]Aeon199 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I definitely agree that it reduces chances, and especially on platforms like Tinder, hell that's why I don't bother there.
Maybe this'll be the year where I push social anxiety aside and join that gym. We'll see. My time's running out, now or never, anyway.
Just tell me it's not true that average looking women, or even "extra curvy" average women, are able to call up any given hot guy and essentially get it whenever they want. And that if average looking guys want a chance, then they need "good money."
This was some bitch's "harsh truth" post in another subreddit, posted about a year ago, and I was scarred for life after reading it. If that's true, it essentially makes my chances for anything astronomically low.
This chick goes "I used to be fat; now I lost the weight, I can get all the hot guys I want; I don't need more men. Average looking women do not need more men for sex and they're not going to choose average looking guys, anyway."
It can't be that harsh out there. There's no point otherwise.
[–]Lambdal7 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Indeed. People wanna do their thing at the gym anyway. Become obsessed with bodybuilding. Make an Instagram, the autistic bodybuilder, people will find it interesting. just don't give a fuck.

No they can't. Average girls can get with slightly above average guys, but they rarely can get hot guy, only if the hot guy is bad at game and doesn't have options.

Yeah no, average girls can get lots of average guys if they behave really slutty, sometimes a slightly above average guy, but this is a complete turn off for hot guys.
Furthermore, the average guys that the average girls get, only fuck then once and never again, so they cant keep them. Average girls can only keep below average guys.

This is retarded. To me a guy who needs to do pick some kind of pseudo life through pixels automatically makes him trying too hard and possibly decreasing his own value. One picture is all you need. It's a numbers game. Spending an hour on here is way too long.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Huh? Maybe you could express disagreement without calling it "retarded" my guy.
