Emotion yes, not more energy. If you're not energetic, don't be this party clown, comes off massively tryhard and fake. Instead, practice conveying a lot of emotion and certainty through your words, while speaking calmly. Practice free association and keeping people hooked to your stories. When you speak, make it sound like the best shit ever. Not the most fun and pumped up shit ever, but the best most epic shit ever. Should do the trick for you.

This. Some girls like high energy guys others like low energy guys.
Don't try to be something you are not. Be comfortable with what you are.

I agree--listen to some story podcasts or a good audiobook and pay close attention to how the voice actors use tonality and cadence to keep people interested in the story they're telling.
That said, pick the right audience. If you're hanging around fast-paced groups with short attention spans (especially if the social leaders of the group are good at witty humor and free-association) this may not get you anywhere because it doesn't suit the overall mood of the group or the strengths of the leaders. Pick the right environment for your strengths to work in.

Why is being laid back a bad thing? You're obviously experiencing something negative from women that you're attributing to your nonchalance. What's going on?

Idk people say I act "too cool" and don't show any emotion.

So what negative results occur because of this?

Neither. The secret to being so laid back is to not give a fuck. Stop being so self critical.

Without back story and some words about yourself it can be quite hard to give tips.
I used to be highly energetic and extremely witty, now I've put that personality behind me and even my best friend who knew the old me, have forgotten about the old me and when I take on that old role he gets very confused and thinks somethings wrong with me. Fun thing is I've become a manager and I'll hire him soon and at work I'm still the fast paced witty worker. Not many people remember the past, most only remember how you made them feel. I use that a lot at work and on friends, sure your friends will remember some shit you've long forgot about, but they mainly remember feelings of the past and not facts. It's wierd not being able to "be yourself" when around your friends because they think the real you is something else. Be natural, be yourself. Don't fuck around with different personalities on the same group of people. I have a couple groups of people I see and to each and every one of them I'm a different person.
