I've gone solo many times and to be honest with you it takes some balls and its harder in my opinion. I don't prefer it.

Don't give a shit about anything
Bad attention is better than no attention in my opinion
chat up random ppl to get into a social mood.
don't be a wallflower. If you find yourself in some corner using your phone you're doing it wrong. The more you wait to open someone the harder it is. Talk to the middle age lady, bar tender, bouncer.

You will need to open a lot, the sooner the better. Pay attention to any questions that come to your mind and ask others. Things like:

When you are warmer you can start with more direct stuff.
