Shes probably taking it slow. No need to worry or anything. Just take her out again. Shes getting comfortable to you. Sounds to me she likes you if you guys are non-stop texting. Just give it time.

Hey man,

So you went on your first two dates. The girl dodged your kiss on the first date and things got awkward on the second date. She tells you she likes you a lot yet no kiss or some sort of physical play...

When you get the kiss really depends on your style of interaction. I go in for the kiss as soon as possible, very early, funny obnoxiously early :)) Other people go in for the kiss very late.
This is also closely related to how physical you get with the girl during your time together.

There are no rules in dating and first kiss... only the ones you make up and believe in.

In my opinion (strictly personal opinion, please do not get offended) two dates and no kiss or some sort of physical play is an indicator of low sexual tension or low sexual expression. Either way things will tend to go pretty slow sexual wise...

It seems like she just wants to take it slow. If she wasn't interested in you, you wouldn't have heard back from her after the first date.

I went in for a kiss when I walked her to her car and she kind of dodged it.

Let me translate this to you: "When you tried to kiss me, i didn´t feel it, and since i think yu are a great guy, i don´t want to hurt your feelings, so i tell you some crap about me not being 'that kind of girl' "

On Tuesday night I take her out for dinner.

I hope you didn´t pay for her, because, this should be reserverd for your girlfriend, with only one exception: you already had sex. The problem with this is, you try hard to show her how good of a guy you are. There is no challenge for her, since she gets it all for just being there. This is unattractive.

Again, the date goes great. After dinner I walk her back to her car and again, I get an awkward hug and kiss on the cheek goodbye.

There it is, first off you did the exact opposite of what you told her before "giving her time" and second, you did that mistake twice.

At this point I'm really confused. Granted, I'm newly single and haven't dated in like 5 years given my recent 4 year relationship but all my friends are telling me to drop her if she won't even kiss me after 2 dates.

In all honesty, your friends don´t know how women feel, think and behave. So you shouldn´t listen to them.

Am I looking at this the wrong way? Can someone shed some light on dating/first kiss rules? Thanks.

Yes, i will try to give you some insight:

Dont try to kiss on the end of the date. This works in hollywood, but very rarely in the real world.
Stop texting like you are her gay best friend, you are too available. This looks like you have no life of your own, nothing that takes all your time, so when you text her, it is something special. Also try to limit texting to making a date, rather than transporting information.
Don´t pay the bill, split it. She has to earn that. This conveys lower value, since you make it all easy and comfortable for her, thus, putting her on a pedestal. This is highly unattractive.
If you go on a date, do something exciting. Going for dinner is boring as hell, and won´t make her wet. Also most of the times there is no possibility for Kino, so you won´t be able to kiss her.

Women are emotional creatures. Rarely they are rational thinking when it comes to dating. They don´t think: "cool, he pays the bill, i need to find him attractive", "now that he told me about his cool job i really want to have sex with him". They just feel, and the stronger the emotion is, the more they enjoy it. The more they open up.

And what do you think will she feel if you try to kiss her, when you didn´t touch her? when she is not warmed up? Yes. Nothing that makes her want to kiss you. So when you are going on your next date, choose something exciting. Something that gets her heart pumping, makes her laugh, shout out from excitment. You will make her feel many positive emotions wich she will relate you you.

Then it is very important to touch her. Take her hand, touch her hair, her upper and later lower back. Her arms etc. Kino Escalation. Then, when you have warmed her up enough, she will show it to you. You will see that in her eyes, her body language, that´s the point where you can kiss her. You will see that then she will just forget that little sentence she feels she has to say: "i´m not that kind of girl".

Fuck it man... You have to be more sexual and more agressive with this chick. She is your bitch and not the other way around. There is no such thing as being confortable fora a fucking 1st kiss. Its not a blowjob. She is playing you because he see you as a provider and not a fucker. I think it will be hard to you revert your image with her. I suggest you read No more Mr. Nice Guy. And if you want things get better with this girl stop texting her. Say you are busy as fuck. Skip a weekend (or 2) and schedule a new date. Select something you can interact more... Grab her strong with your arms and kiss her violently.
