Honestly, best move. I would also recommend calling if you feel like the interaction is soon to be f*cked.
I had this plenty of times, and the girl will most likely flake, so might as well play it risky.
Personally, when I feel a girl is just about to ghost me, I just call them, last time I did this girl immediately texted me back and apologized for being busy. Then I ended getting that day 2 with her.

Ok, girls have lives also and can't always drop what they're doing to see you last minute. Ask her what days she's free over the week to meet up. If she gives you several options then simply pick one and offer to pick her up or have her meet you there. Set a definite date, time, and location. Do it at night, do it alone, do something active. I recommend you do mini golf then go to a bar/restaurant close to one of your houses. Don't tell her all your plans fir the night. And limit texting to setting dates.
If she's hesitant or busy all week don't make any plans and simply say you guys can do something another week. Try again a week later, if same result move on to next girl.

Why
The whole purpose of dating and spending time with a woman on a date is to build intimacy, comfort and increase her level of attraction to you. In a group she may not feel comfortable getting close to you. It also gives off a friendly vibe which you don't want.
