Book of Pook is 10/10! So much fun to read so most of the principles stick in your mind when you are in the moment and need to think on your feet...

If u dont mind me asking what's the book about? Why is it recommended so much?

It's a wonderful guide not just to picking up women, but to dating in general. He spends a lot of time working on what kind of mindset you should have at every moment, as well as how to improve yourself.

In all fairness it's worth spending money on. It was a game changer for me. Pun intended.

Any other game changer books you can recommend? So yesterday i read the first lesson or two, rejection over regret any day, i was reading it as i was going out for dinner with friends. Let me tell u the confidence boost i had from that line, let me hit on 2 girls (both have bf) but it felt good especially since i just got out of a toxic relationship in may.... it's been hard to want to date again...

The first chapter of the book Models. The part where he talks about non-neediness made a HUGE impact on my social life.
The rest of the book is good too, but I found the first chapter to be the most illuminating.

I can't stand the prose style. Like "Winnie the Pooh Learns Pickup" by the author of Jonathan Livingston Seagull.
Does anyone want to rewrite it in normal English?

My advice: Don't wait for college to reopen. Just go to any place with a lot of people and talk to girls.

I'm reading that book currently as well.
Let me know how applying it works out for you.

Why don’t you apply it yourself?
[–]20Xti6 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I didn't say that I'm not. I'm interested in OP's experience.

You should stop reading books about seduction, no one can teach you how to be seductive, also remember that people want to make money and to make money you can't be real 100% as people want hope, so a lot of things written in seduction books are bullshit.
Also everyone is different, there are different kind of personalities, even thought processes vary between people. If you want to improve your seductive abilities you should work on yourself, something tangible, like going to the gym, losing fat, tanning, making more money, or taking better photos if you use dating sites.
You should really stop overanalyzing things that may not even exist, women are just like men, the only big difference is that demand for women is superior to the demand for men, why do you think that there are not big seductive communities for women? Because men are the proactive gender? Or because they don't need seduction. Women are selfish, men are selfish, women have the upper hand in the dating game.
The seduction community is overly optimistic, many things are outside our control no matter how much we wish for it, you have to take reality for whatever it is and adapt, neither being too pessimistic nor too optimistic, many times seduction is just a number game, you try and find the right girl at the right time in the right place, she may like you, or is bored and wants company, or is ready for dating and you are the first person available to her or whatever. Dating is a market, supply, demand, chances.
Do you know how many people that are intelligent, funny, interesting are out there? Almost everyone has something interesting to say, do you think that when you get a girl is because you made her laught 2 times or because you "kinoed" (aka touching her hand or shoulder). Many times people don't even get a chance to be interesting because the girl being on her pedestal already decided that you are not right for her maybe because at the restaurant you used the fork incorrectly, or because you have a weird tiny mole on your neck.
The seductive mindset is toxic for men in the long term, you keep telling yourself that you are the "prize" but if you really were the prize the girl would come to you in the first place and not you to her, or give you big big signals that she wants you to approach her. Being in the seductive community, reading books, it may feel that you are "improving" yourself, but in reality you are just giving too much attention to a normal part of everyone's life and inflating the price of pussy even more.
Understand that most of the seductive qualities are innate(having the right looks, yes go to the gym) or don't have anything to do with seduction directly(aka having money or having status) and the rest of the qualities have a very minor impact and it's mostly how much you play the field and not how, of course if you suffer from autism and don't understand how to behave normally like many seducers out there putting videos on youtube creeping girls out you should really not take advice from weird people on the internet.

I understand what you mean, i didn't want to be negative, i said in my post to be realistic, i don't like pessimism nor optimism neither are optimal to reach your goals.
You as some point in your life understood that the state you were in wasn't optimal to reach your goals and took action, maybe those books gave you the motivation and energy to start, or maybe those were your transition from nothing to something, a small step forwards, but the next real step that you took was being out there and playing, getting personal experience, i understand eye contact, that's something important to teach when you don't know it, but for most people that's mostly basic, other things are not teachable, your body language, your gestures, the way you speak , can't be faked and also are those little thing that make you unique and different, growth happens when you do the thing that you want to be better at, just by doing that you grow, you grow even more if you are able to be objective and analyze what you did and what you could do to make things better. I read some seduction books, some are well grounded in reality and say common sense, other are fantasy books like the lord of the rings.
Many people don't even leave the mindset of "preparing oneself" instead of doing, gathering information from things that may not even exist or may not exist for them, i even read about a coach from real social dynamics that said that he hooked up with girls by saying very weird things in a confident way, the thing is that the coach was good looking, if some butt ugly guy or average guy said those same things as him with the same energy and vibe he would creep the girls out.
That's why seduction is a personal journey and there are no magic tricks, no psychological tricks, growth happens when you are out there and learn from the feedbacks that the world gives to you, your own personal tailored feedback, another guy doing the same things you do in the same way could get very different feedbacks.
Being interesting, funny, touchy or flirty that's something that everyone could do and does, everyone has friends, everyone had girls, as i said it's a market, social skills are soon capped and one has to think really hard if it's really worth it to get those diminishing returns.
I understand the enthusiasm, but there are many delusional people inside the community. If you are average looking like a 5.5 from 1 to 10, you will never get a 8 girl with social skills, the few that do are more like lottery winners that were in the right place at the right time, not because they were "better" and maybe they will get inside a relationship that they don't really want where all the power is held by the girl.
The real social dynamics(no the scam scum company), are cruel and don't care about wishes, optimism. Many male animals(humans too) don't even get the chance to reproduce.

Do you guys prefer physical books or audiobooks for this?
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I just got it and will start read it, how do you compare it to the Mystery Method?
I haven't read Mystery Method yet but from my limited knowledge I gather that Mystery Method is more about routines i.e. outer game while Book of Pook is more about the right mindset to have i.e. inner game, which I believe is more important because once you really internalize the right mindset your game will fall into place naturally.

The book of pook is an amazing book. It was the first book I finished reading on my spare time. This book essentially changed my life and outlook on women. Would definitely recommend it!
I guess I’ll start reading it. Does it give advice or just a different outlook on women?
