Ghosting and flaking happens all the time, you just got to accept it and take it for what it is. Don’t go out of you way to say something like “I cAn tAkE a hInT I wOnT bE wEiRd” that’s needy and weird. Even if you’re shook by it. (Which you shouldn’t be but it’s harder to do than say) don’t express that just accept it is what it is. People ghost and flake for an infinite amount of reasons and it’s going to happen a lot and you’ll have to get used to it.

Good advice. I’ve never been flaked on before so my immediate reaction was to make her feel bad, but I guess that’s pretty petty. I’ll just ignore her besides work related things.

This happens. Flakes and ghosts are a part of dating.

Unfortunately

I think it's a blessing in disguise. The goal is to find the person of your dreams and the person of your dreams would never ghost or flake.

That’s a nice outlook

Just act cool like nothing happened. Be outgoing and fun. Make her want you.

"Hey, I'm not gonna be weird or anything so don't worry. I can take a hint, we're cool."
That's not bad actually.
Next move is to be more sociable with more women so that you can actually make it true. If you go on like this getting a crush on girls one at a time, investing a lot of hopes and expectations and then feeling crushed, it's like you broadcast to women loud and clear, "Oh please, please date me I am soooo desperate."
You don't have to go around hitting on dozens of girls and taking numbers left and right. Just be fun, casual, attentive and (in a word) "cool" around all the women and guys you meet. When you make a connection and want to date a girl, make it "hanging around" doing something you're both interested in and that you would be doing anyways, not a "date" which is kind of rigid and old-fashioned ... like you need to ask for her father's permission or something.

Welcome to life after 2010.
The sooner you realize how much attention women get the better off you will be. Tinder/social media has given women a constant flow of male suitors.
Just remember. If she flakes on you, it's because she met a higher value male. End of discussion. Do not rationalize it any other way. She had a coffee date with you Friday night but cut contact Thursday night? That's because Chad Thundercock slid into her DMs Thursday and she's going to invest into him...If you're lucky she will it you up in a few weeks after he's flaked on her.
Men would behave no differently if we had a constant stream of women DMing us begging to take us out on a date.

IMO it's a check to see if you're already clinging and you don't have anything else to do besides worrying about her already. I say you go grab a nice drink with your boys and have fun. IF OP is courageous enough, go get antoher number !

Honestly, I think she just felt like she was put on the spot and was too cowardly to just tell me no.

It's possible as is any scenario but I say it's weird that she turned so cowardly so suddenly however. A common beginner mistake is to put the blame for a failed test on the other party, I'd really say have a good standing there but don't go for the "I'm not going to be weird or something". It will just make you weird. Be normal and have fun.
