Backstory, to get to the question, just skip this.
Hey, guys! Yesterday I watched Nick Spark's approaching video, and promised myself I'd make at least one approach with a girl. Queue a bit of hesitation and anxiety, but in the end I still did it. It was clear I wasn't the only one who had never approached/been approached before. I think it went pretty well, it was fun and kinda cute to see how she was visibly a bit nervous about being approached :D
Anyways, she took the initiative and added me on Facebook right after she got home. I'm pretty sure she likes me, and I plan to ask her out via Facebook. Any tips? I think I'll make it short and clear, because I'm not really afraid of getting refused at this point.

Main question:
So, on /r/seduction, everything's about how to escalate things quickly, and get laid. However, I'm not sure if I'm maybe more interested in a longer lasting relationship, if she's cool. Are there some things you should be doing differently when going for a relationship? (examples: is there a difference in escalating? Behavior? Anything else a guy with no previous girl experience might be missing?)

/r/seduction has been a pretty big help to me recently, and I thank all you guys for making this subreddit into what it is today! Have a great day! :)

My current goals - you can skip this and answer the main question, or give advice on this, too:
Right now I want to learn kino, because I don't usually touch people when I talk to them. I also want to work on my eye contact. I think the reason I was so successful was because I felt, that she was more inexperienced than I, and wasn't afraid to be playful and look her in the eye. If I think someone's more experienced, or has better style, than I do, then I have trouble making eye contact, which I still have to work on.
I'm also still working on my personal style, because I'm not completely satisfied yet. I'm trying out various hairstyles and -products, and I'm slowly improving, so I'm sure I'll find something I'm happy with one day.

My (rather long, feel free to skip) advice to people, who are in the same place as I was two years ago (a bit socially anxious, and depressed):
Because I think this is one of my breakthroughs during these last two years, I think I can share my experiences with other people, so they can become more happy, too.

So, I used to be really socially anxious, and also depressed. I often thought about how life is kinda miserable, and dying would be pretty nice (I wasn't suicidal, just didn't care). I think my biggest breakthrough of all time, was when one day, some days after having cried for 3 hours straight (because I thought my life was pathetic) , I just decided I didn't want this sort of life. I vowed, that from then on, life was going to be about happiness, and nothing else in the world matters. It really gave me a happiness and confidence boost. To this day, whenever I feel meaningless, I try to remind myself of this vow.

This was my first step - become happy with my own life.

After a while, I realized I'd be happier if I wasn't so socially anxious. So, over a looong period of time, I took steps to eliminate it. Making those phone calls I really didn't want to, laughing more, improving my confidence by dressing better, etc. I'm very pleased to say, that during this summer, I finally managed to get somewhat good at making smalltalk with near-strangers: random customers, distant friends from the past, etc.

This was my step two - learn to socialize

Then, recently, I stumbled upon this subreddit. I watched some videos, learned new terms and gained helpful tips. Got the courage together to talk to an absolute stranger. This isn't actually that hard to do, if you're already somewhat good at making smalltalk. I managed to use the tips I got from this subreddit, and it went well. Surprisingly well, actually. I live in a country, where personal space is valued, and shyness is common, so I was very pleasantly surprised, when she didn't despise me for interrupting her listening to music, and instead offered me to listen in, too.

And this was my most recent breakthrough - overcome the fear of strangers

Of course, this was a long, and often hard, journey. However, what helped me overcome failure, was thinking "This is just practice. No worries.". In fact, that's the attitude I had when approaching this girl. Well, that, and "Fuck it! Just fucking do it!".

Anyways, this might've been too rambly or useless, but I hope someone gains something out of this and becomes even just a little bit happier with their life. After all, happiness is the only thing that matters :)

Wow, this turned out to be a pretty long post! Thanks to everyone kind enough to answer my questions. Have a great day! :)
