As I’ve mentioned before in a few posts recently, I’m [27M] who’s on the path towards healing and reconnecting with people and myself after all the shit hands I’ve been dealt. Now that I’m on the path towards self-improvement and getting back out there in the game, for the past couple months, cold approaching has been difficult - even Herculean. I never know what to say or what I’m going to say, how the interaction will end (hopefully not behind bars), etc. Even recently today, I went to the beach to test my limits, but a lotta the girls were in groups, which was DEFINITELY Herculean - even impossible. Within these past couple months though, I’ve made a few approaches, only because I kept FORCING myself to even when I’m anxious. And I’m breaking down my own thought processes - I haven’t been as friendly as I used to be before I got world-weary and now I’m left with a mentality that when things seem to get better, it just seems to good to be true. As much as I need to continue going out there to “work out” those social skills while getting in tune with them again, I also need to heal what’s going on inside.
Any thoughts on how to improve my situation?
