so, I've known this girl who in this case we'll call Emily, and I've known her since early November. I met her through a mutual friend that we both have and we only see each other during lunch, when I first met her I didn't really take much interest in her mostly due to the fact that I was chasing after another girl at the time after the other girl rejected me I now know what I did wrong. after some time had passed I opened up a little to her and started to talk her during lunch, now every time we do sit together we never sit just the two of us, it's always me, her, my friend, and her friend (i get along with all of them) . I didn't really talk to her when I first met her mostly cause y'know she was someone new, but until a few weeks ago we started talking a lot more and we have very similar interests and ways of thinking. sometimes while I'm talking I notice that she tends to stare at me while I'm talking, she always keeps the conversation going and we both laugh at each other's jokes, sometimes we lock eyes for a split second and then immediately look away, but then again that could be anything.

so about 2 weeks ago just before the start of winter break, I saw her, and as a matter of fact, she greeted me before we had gone to our table (keep in mind she had never done this before, up until that point we greeted each other once we were at our table) and we conversed like never before we were basically the only ones talking at our table that day. she laughed so hard at the jokes that I made and we constantly agree on a lot of things.

anyways, modern-day we're currently still on break and we don't return until next Monday the 3rd. luckily for me, I have lunch with her that same day and I have already devised a plan for that day. so I figured we've known each other for long enough and I want to start sending hints and the way I plan on doing that is with a late Christmas present (i was originally going to give it to her the day before the break but she wasn't there). as a matter of fact, my school has a cafe that's open during all lunches so my plan is to invite her to the cafe (I'll be paying of course) and then hand her the gift.

so how does all of that sound? does it sound like I have a chance? I'm free to answer any questions and would greatly appreciate any thoughts on this, thanks in advance!
