Don't over complicate it, tell her you like talking to her and want to stay in contact during the break. If you want to be more badass be honest and let her know you're starting to like her. Don't play mental games with either her or yourself.

Especially if the break is coming up, take the risk. If you get rejected you have a couple weeks to get over it.

Just ask her. You have to take a risk, if she says no that isn't you fucking something up its simply her not being into you.
