I saw someone comment on Reddit that on every date, he makes himself believe that the date has gone south and that she isn't into him. Then he isn't worried about trying to impress her and he doesn't have any problems with teasing, banter, and calling her out on shit.

Someone responded to him saying that he does the opposite. This other guy makes himself believe that she's already into him so that he can be himself.
