How you perceive yourself is generally how others will perceive you.

In other words, if you make it a big deal, generally speaking it will be a big deal. Conversely, if you don't really give it any thought, then other people generally won't.

It shouldn't be a problem. If she doesn't accept you then it's something wrong with her, not you.

You'll feel more confident but you'll be perceived as lacking confidence when they ask you about it. I stutter and mispronounce words all the time. I don't care. If they point it out, it's a great opportunity to turn it into a joke and laugh about it.

I have a long ass name so I use an abbreviated version. When people ask about it, I use it to crack jokes and make people laugh. Own what you have because nobody else has it. Be creative and have fun.

If you aren't confident, yes. Also, there are coaches to help you with stuttering. There is one locally and he goes to conventions.

Only when saying your name? Just call yourself AJ then who cares? Having a full on stutter is like a man being short. You can say, "If they don't accept you it's their problem." all you want, but it's not going to change that short dudes have to work a bit harder and so would someone with a stutter.
