Alright, so here's what's up.

I'm an 18 year old dude, I'd say pretty good looking, like a solid 8, I go to the gym, I'm a funny dude and.. yet, none of that shit matters since I can't overcome a "Trauma", if you can call it that. I'll try to keep it as short as possible.

About a year ago, I had my first girlfriend, and when we were trying to do some kinky stuff, I basically fucked it up by not knowing how to kiss with my tongue. Not only that, she just said it, and I asked if I could practice, but instead I just got the equivalent of a "no".

Fast forward to some other experiences with girls (well, more like...1), and I'm so damn afraid of making that first kiss or just kissing in general, and how the fuck can I get to the good parts if I'm a bad kisser and can't set the mood well? I know how to do it without tongue (I think, that part of my trauma got a bit of a remedy since I went to one party and things escalated to that. I was wasted, but I did know how to switch from top lit to bottom lip, but what do I know, maybe that ain't even right).

At this point I'm having even trouble gaining confidence to ask a girl out because I know it will need to lead to that eventually, and I don't want to be a disappointment to the lucky girl who gets me as well as myself, but obviously, doing nothing will not help my situation at all.

So, what exactly SHOULD I do in this situation? Just face my fears, get rejected and feel shitty multiple times until I "get it" ? Sounds good, and yet, it's obviously a lot harder than that as most of you probably know when it comes to facing your fears. It sucks, cause I feel like I don't even need a girl at the moment, I just want to be good at it so I don't disappoint myself / get rejected when the right time comes. I feel like getting rid of these problems now will impact me more than I even know, and I bet it will be a lot harder for me to get rid of them when I am 20+ and still have no clue on how to properly escalate things...

Anyways, thoughts and advice? Will greatly appreciate any responses.
