Before I heard the term "qualification," I never realized I was allowed to have standards. Every attractive woman went on a pedestal. If she liked me, I assumed I was lucky and that I had to make it work. Hell the word "standards" was not part of my vocabulary.

I am not sure if this is due to neediness, the message society tells me, or what, tbh it does not matter.

What mattered was discovering that physical attraction wasn't the only question, if anything, it was just the start. Compatibility, values, character, kindness, emotional maturity, those things mattered too. Learning about qualification was the first time I started asking not just, "Does she like me?" but, "Is this actually someone I want to build a relationship with?".

Then like a lot of people, I came across "The Game" and then "The Mystery Method". And the word "qualification" popped into my vocabulary.

So anyway, what is qualification exactly and why does it matter.

Its one of the following:

Technique:

You pretend to be selective. You look for reasons to show interest beyond looks because you understand that pure physical attraction is not enough. The goal is to create the impression that you have standards.

This can work as a beginner exercise because it forces someone to stop obsessing over appearance alone. However, if it remains just a tactic, it is still a performance.

Authenticity:

Having a real idea of what you are looking for in a woman. Actively screening for those core values and interests. Then if she has them, proceed, if not, walk away as she is not what you are looking for (regardless of looks). But ultimately she is not a good fit for you.

The mindset shift is a jump from "how do I make a woman like me" to "how do I find out if I even want to invest time and energy into this woman".

EDIT: This assumes there is a level of physical attraction already taken place.
