What you are doing is downright stupid. Those border towns and run by narco gangs that tend to like all the same pretty girls you do. Typically they leave Americans alone but all it takes is one drunk narco and a opportunity to be jealous of you.

I guarantee you that way more often than not, they like you because of the opportunity to get out of poverty.

My personal experience was in Cabo not TJ.

I met a girl there the first night of my vacation and ended up sharing our bed the entire time. She was also in vacation form Northern Mexico (they apparently also utilize their tourist spots) and was a bank officer. So it isn’t in the same range.
