Hey guys,

I found the pickup community as a frustrated high school kid nearly 5 years ago. A few months in, I began having overwhelming success that I never thought I was capable of. Looking back now, I am still dumbfounded at how quickly my success came. About a year in to my journey, shortly after starting college, I began dating this girl who I just really clicked with. By my second semester, it quickly progressed to a relationship (ironic because I promised myself I would never be in a relationship during college). In total, the relationship spanned about 4 years, 2 of which we lived together. I actually had plans to propose to this girl after I finished up my studies.

Anyway, about 3 months ago, she ended things. I was devastated, and honestly, I am still working to get through it. I've been on a decent amount of dates since then, none of which have escalated past a makeout session. I can't seem to shake this feeling of guilt I get whenever I am with a girl. For some reason, my subconscious makes me feel like I am cheating on my ex, even though it has been quite a bit of time since we broke up. It's really killing my game, to the point that my friends have even commented on it. I'll be hitting it off with a girl and simply eject myself from the situation because I feel "wrong." Obviously, this is irrational from a logical standpoint, but I am having a hard time reconciling this logic with my emotional state.

I'm sure there's a fair chunk of you on here that found this subreddit because of a loneliness you were feeling after a bad breakup. Did any of you feel this feeling of guilt I am talking about? How did you push through it? Were there any books, posts, mental exercises or whatever that really helped you to reframe your way of looking at the situation?
