Actually my second one, but the first one was nearly a year ago and I wouldn’t really count it as a real approach apart from a friendly compliment. The second one happened today and I’m really surprised with how reasonably good it went….

Prior to the approach, I had been walking through the city for hours. Basically had a very long and very draining push conversation with myself, trying to get me to approach. Eventually I decided to go sit in a park after passing up many opportunities. Then I got a phone call from a female friend and we talked for a long time. During the talk I saw a girl sit down at another bench and I really felt the need to approach her. Because I was on the phone, I didn’t feel much anxiety so I was finally able to make a binding decision that I wouldn’t comeback from. So after the phone call ended, immediately all the anxiety came back, but after regrouping myself for a minute or two, I finally went for it. I complimented her outfit, primarily her shoes and she was pretty responsive for a girl who reads in a park, probably a little bit more on the introverted side. We had a very normal conversation, unfortunately it was maybe a little to normal. It definitely lacked a certain emotional component. But I’m very proud of the way I was handling the nerves. I managed to stay pretty grounded and relaxed. I didn’t feel the need to fill up second of silence. Since I’m a very low energy type of person, a style of game based on being very grounded and relaxed is what I want to embody so I’m really proud of how grounded I managed to be at this stage.

I didn’t end up asking for the number. I honestly didn’t feel a genuine connection. I almost regretted that decision because to my surprise she seemed to be a little disappointed with that.
