I've been a lurker here for a while mostly trying to soak up a lot of the knowledge since my approach sucks. I am decent at communicating once a convo is started (usually people I meet through friends though). Last night a large group (30-ish) went to the bars for a birthday of a close friend of mine. This group unfortunately included my ex so I decided it was a great time to work on my approach and not sit awkwardly in the corner. Of course we started super early and I didn't want to just ditch birthday boy ASAP. From 8-10 we mostly bar hopped and drank. After the 3rd bar I still hadn't seen many pickings and our group was splintered between 3 bars... herding drunks at the bars is like herding snakes.

Anyways, I decided to leave the bar I was at with about 8 of us (including birthday boy) and head over to another bar to catch up with other friends. Right outside I see a girl with a cigarette that I just want to approach. Don't stop to think about it just walk up and say hi and join her. (I should note here somehow I ended up with some strangers Peach electric Hookah thats all rainbow-y) Introduce myself, ask her name, ask about her interests. Generally she is replying but being very abrupt, isn't really working. Then an acquaintance who I had no clue was at the bars walked up to us and says "Hey you know cowtippingmidget is gay right?"... And the ballgame has changed. I had been about to abort when douchy acquaintance came up. Girl smiles at me and says "oh thats cool" grabs my wrist and says "Im a bit tipsy, Im glad I can feel safe around you, mind if I hold on to you? These heels are too high for me right now"

I agree and flirt away for 20 minutes. Didn't really run a set, just talked. She said I looked like Dawson from Dawsons creek (I get that a shit ton. It's seriously great for me). She discusses the show with me for 20 minutes (I hadn't seen it but I played along, slowly advancing kino the whole time).

My birthday buddy and his friends step outside and see me with my hand on this girls ass and they are shocked (Im usually NOT the one seen with random girls)

They ask for an introduction to which she says "Im Dawson's girlfriend kiss on my cheek" Birthday boy is drunk and asks for me for a minute while my friends entertain her. I step aside and he grabs me and says "I swear to god if you do not close so I can live through you vicariously I will fucking kill you" I smile and say "You're drunk" and step back to the girl. Friends depart for another bar and this happens:

H: "Are you really gay?"

M: "No, that kid's a friend of mine and he likes to fuck with me."

H: "So you like to eat pussy?"

M: "Sometimes, but only if I'm getting something out of it"

THEN her friends (who I didn't know existed) made it to the front of the line at the bar and called her to come in with them. She goes to kiss me on the cheek good-bye, I say "Thats it" and lean in for a kiss on the lips, she goes with it for a quick make out session outside and says "You really aren't gay... Wanna sneak in with our group?"

M: "Sure"

We sneak in, she is tells me her friends are going into VIP (they were not accepting men in VIP this point) so I see the guy who called me gay (His birthday was earlier in the week) I buy him a beer and we chill for a while. He walked up to two strange girls at the bar and pulled a "HAaaaaave you met cowtippingmidget?" They both had boyfriends but we made small talk. Then Dawson girl grabs me from behind around the waste and says they are going to another bar and if I wanna join. I playfully say "Im not leaving my friends to get ditched for VIP again"

H: "We won't do that again, I promise"

M: "Or we could just leave the bars and grab a drink in privacy?" She kisses me and says "sure, let me tell my friends Im done today"

Went back to her place and the game was off, just physical. I answered the first question she asked me, then left around 3am.

Great first experience actually having the balls to approach. Will do this again soon.
