I’ve seen a lot of posts regarding going out alone and I have never tried it myself until last night.. unintentionally.
I went out with 3 of my friends to a bar that has a great Tuesday special for ladies night. While looking for a group of girls to talk to it became quite apparent that my friends were scared as hell to talk to good looking women. Every time I would say, “Hey what about that group?” there would inevitably be an excuse as to why we shouldn’t. “They’re ugly.” “They’re fat.” “They’re with a group of guys already.” blah blah blah.
After about 15 minutes of this I knew if I was waiting on these guys to make a move i’d be waiting all night. So I head to the bar and as soon as I get close, a girl turns around with a fruity cocktail with all kinds of decorations on the straw.. like the drink was absolutely ridiculous. i’m actually still astounded. We made eye contact immediately and I say “what do I have to tell the bartender to make me a drink that looks like that.” She laughed. We talk for about 15 minutes all while my friends are watching at somewhat of a distance. I decided to be nice and try to include them so I call my friends over and introduce them. Not a great idea. They have nothing else to say besides their name and a formal greeting and they awkwardly stand there for about a minute or so which killed the vibe between me and this girl. She ends up dipping and we were just standing there with our thumbs up our asses. Back to square one.
My friends start making more excuses why they don’t want to talk to any of the girls there and they eventually say they’re headed home. I told them I’d see them tomorrow and they leave. I go back to the bar because I was going to get one more beer before I went home and I strike up a conversation with a solid 8.5 who is just standing around my area of the bar. We talk for about 5 minutes and the conversation is going awesome. She’s laughing and smiling. All of a sudden she says “wait right here while I go to the restroom.” I tell her no problem i’ll be here.
I look down at my phone for 5 seconds after she leaves and I feel a tap on my shoulder. Two girls say “Hey you’re really funny. Not to be creepy but we overheard your conversation. Is that your girlfriend?” I immediately smile at the hotter of the two girls and say “How can that be my girlfriend when you’re my girlfriend?” They both laugh and I stick my hand out for her to hold it and she grabs it and I pull her over for a hug. Then I make up some total bullshit story to her friend about how we met and how we fell in love. I was having a blast and so were they.
The conversation is going great and the girl who went to the restroom comes back. She walks right by me and gives me a look which I interpreted to say “hello i’m back pay attention to me again now” ... but I’m honestly having too much fun with these other too girls to even care so she eventually walks away.
I end up taking the one girl home who I claimed as my “girlfriend” and had some of the best sex i’ve ever had. But there are a few things I learned from this experience.
My friends were holding me back. The constant excuses why they don’t approach a single female and the awkwardness from trying to include them in my ongoing conversation was a total buzzkill. Once they left I literally didn’t give a shit about whether a girl liked me or not. If you get turned down and there is no one there to see it, did it really happen? You can become so much better at approaching women and having conversations if you don’t have anyone there to remind you of something that doesn’t go right. In my experience I’ve noticed that some guys will dog on their friend if they approach a girl and strikeout. It’s almost like they get pleasure seeing it. Don’t let them get to you. They didn’t even have the balls to step up to the plate. But going out alone can help you avoid this all together.
Every conversation I had improved because I got more and more comfortable. The first girl I talked to went well, but it was nothing in comparison to the conversation that led me to taking the last girl home. You’re not going to get better at having conversations by reading about other’s conversations.
If girls sees you making a pretty girl laugh, they immediately become curious about you. Girls are insanely jealous and it drives them crazy to see you giving other girls attention. Especially if the girl you’re giving attention to seems to like it. If I wouldn’t have talked to the 8.5, I seriously doubt that my conversation with the following girls would have been near as successful.
So that’s my experience. I want to thank this subreddit for all the help over the years. This is a very supportive and positive group. Stay cool.
