1. During the weekend I went to a bonfire with my best friend and his girlfriend to celebrate a good friend's birthday. As we got there, I went straight to the people I got along the most with, including birthday dude to establish some social cred. I introduced my friends to each other(something I've been kind of awkward about in the past) and went around talking to people and introducing myself to pretty much everyone there. At some point I realized one of my friends(girl) was there but seemed to be ignoring me because of our last argument. This was fine, as she's always making a big deal out of things. While hanging around the fire pit, I realize she had brought her sister along (HB8.5). She was really cute but I didn't want to go talk to her with her sister there. The night continued and so did my random conversations with everyone until I noticed her standing by the beer pong table alone. I went next to her to watch the game. It was a pretty heated battle and I made a few jokes I can't remember but I do remember her smiling. Seeing this as an IOI, I stepped closer to her and said "hey, you're ______'s sister, right?" She told me "yes." so i asked her name and gave her mine. We talked for a while and I asked her if she wanted to play BP. She said she didn't drink so I joked about playing with juice which she seemed to find funny. Her sister was drunk and kept making an ass of herself as always, so I jokingly asked her if she always got like that and told her "you must be the responsible one." I asked her to join me in raiding the host's fridge(after asking him for permission) and we continued to talk about interests. Half way through our conversation I told her "you're probably the most interesting person I've spoken to tonight." to which she replied "really?" and seemed pretty pleased about. Didn't use kino because at some point her sister came to give her a hug and she got mad and said something about not liking when people touch her but I did continue to talk and joke around until she left and said "it was nice meeting you." Didn't get a number but I got her name and last name to find her online. LastNameClose?

  2. Today, as I walked to the bus stop, I noticed HB 8.5 sitting on the bench, so I sat next to her. I started making conversation about school when I noticed she had a piano and a reading book I had used myself in a couple of classes. As the conversation progressed, I found we had a lot in common and kept making small talk about interests until the bus arrived. As I got on the bus, I noticed she was still sitting there probably waiting there for the next bus. Oops. On a side note, she didn't take her sun glasses off during the whole conversation. I see it as impersonal and a bit rude but I'm not quite sure how to interpret it.

  3. Later on today between classes I went to sit at my new usual spot(student center). I mostly stopped going to the library as it's usually not a very good place to meet people and socialize. I was sitting doing some homework since I didn't see any available HBs around. After 30 mins, a cute girl [HB9] walks up to me and asked if she could sit next to me (there was an outlet in front of the seat next to me and she had a laptop). Backtrack a week: I was sitting in the same spot and so was she but she seemed very busy with homework and talking to her friend so I didn't want to bother her. Anyways, I tell her "yeah, sure." and moved a little bit so there was just enough room for her to sit. Sitting really close to someone is like my form of "pre-kino". I then mentioned to her it was the same spot she sat in last time and she gave me a smile and a slight giggle. I asked her about her homework she was doing, classes, and her laptop to get to know her. I pointed out some people in the gaming room who were drinking and used that to shift the conversation into partying (she seemed like the party type) which made her liven up even more. She told me how she had just been to a party the night before and told me a story about her first time partying. I simply kept the conversation going by making questions and comments on things she said and made sure to keep eye contact and smiled when appropriate(two things i've been working on lately). Her allergies were getting pretty bad, so she had to leave but as she was leaving she told me "thanks." to which I replied "what for?" and she said "for the chat." I was slightly surprised as I don't remember ever being thanked IRL for a conversation but I confidently responded by saying "any time." and we both said bye. So from this particular encounter I learned eye contact is powerful when used with a smile and not to assume someone will be bothered if you talk to them because they look busy. On her way out, she actually looked pretty happy and I'm quite sure I had something to do with it. Didn't get a number but I'm sure I'll see her soon, since we both hang out in the same area.
