In response to this post

I was asleep this morning when I got a phone call from the girl I met through a mutual friend on Facebook. She wanted to meet for coffee today, and at first I kinda shrugged it off and told her I went to bed really late last night/this morning (and I did, Reddit was to blame), but eventually I got enough guts to take a shower, put on some decent clothes and rush downtown to the place we were meeting at. It wasn't just us, it was some of her friends, who I have never met before. I was nervous, and wasn't really talkative, but fortunately she was, and it kinda broke the ice a bit. Plus her friends are a pretty lively bunch too. It helped me break out of my shell a bit (in fact, that was the main reason she wanted me to come out, as I've told her I'm really shy in front of other people), and I am glad it happened. Spent a little over an hour there, with people she knew coming up every now and then, and I introduced myself to them, and they were all pretty chill people. I laughed at their jokes, they laughed at mine. When she was ready to go, I left too, said good bye to everyone, and gave her a hug and went on my way.

I think it went really well for a first meeting, especially since it was my first real contact with strangers in years. I think I composed myself really well, and we're still meeting Monday at the same place. I'm pretty fucking proud of myself right now. I hardly ever do this, and it felt damn good.

Edit: If you want, I'll do another FR Monday. Apparently I offended a number of you by doing this as an AFC. I'm sorry, it won't happen again. Leaving the subreddit for greener pastures.
