To preface: thank you Seddit and the PUA community.

The Meet Up; The Mess Up About a week ago I applied and got a new job at this library (I'm an English teacher so I don't have a job in the summer). I spotted this HB6 and found out she worked at the library. She's the type of girl that embodies the classic "girl next door" down to her dress down cardigan.

A couple days ago, after kind of shooting looks here and there and seeing the eye contact back, I thought "I should ask her out." So I asked what she was doing after work in front of a fellow librarian.

Bad move.

She said "Uh, not sure" and walked away, but rule number one "Never lose your goddamn frame" stuck with me. So I marched on realizing what I did wrong and how I could improve.

The Save

Just today, I finally got a chance to see her by herself. We were closing the library, and I finally got the chance to ask "So what are you doing after work?"

"I don't know--going back to my apartment I guess." "Let's go to Fox and Hound instead afterwards. I'm going with friends and it'd be great to get to know you there." "I don't know."

Eventually after talking, she agreed to see me at a bar just one on one at a bar within walking distance.

The Bar So at first she wanted to know what bar we were going to, I said "Teresa's, of course."

"So you must be a beer connoisseur." I like a good quality beer, what can I say? So we make our way to there and I bump my hand into hers a couple times. She looks at me and says "Are you sure you can handle your beer?"

She leans in.

We make our way into the bar, have ourselves small talk. She wants to know what I do with my life. I tell her how I'm an English teacher and swing dance instructor and confidence coach. She wanted to know more about the swing dancing, so I told her about tension between hands, etc etc. So at this point I hold her hand "to show tension" and keep it there.

We hold hands for the next thirty minutes of our two hour long conversation. Meanwhile I'm whispering in her ear, introducing beer to her, getting her to spill all of her sexual secrets and desires when it comes to getting a man.

And the check comes and we leave the place.

Kiss and Leave

I bump into her one more time and we're holding hands near her car. She says midway through the walk, "My cheeks hurt from smiling so much."

At this point, I said "this date was a complete pleasure." I go in for the kiss and she hugs me. We exit out of the hug and we're head and head together.

"Hm. I think we can do better."

"Yeah--me too."

We kiss for another thirty minutes, I press her against the car and we're pretty much on each other. I pull away and she tells me "I dont want to lead you on, but I didnt feel the chemistry between us."

"Mhm."

"I dont want to use you or anything."

"You're not. Well, when you want your next date I'll be where I always am at work."

"Ok."

And at that point I left. She drove away, waggled a good bye, and smiled.

I am happy, confused, and unconvinced.

TL;DR: Saw librarian, thought she looked cute, went on a date, got an k-close, and then she told me that we didn't have chemistry. I'm unconvinced due to evidence.
