Some might find it disappointing result, because I didn't close. I wasn't sure of my intentions towards her going into it, and I'm not certain of them now, but I'm not particularly worried.

I was struggling with kino at first as she sat across the table from me when we met for drinks to begin. It gave it an interview vibe as well when I started the 'getting to know you' questions. Since I couldn't kino I wanted to to build comfort another way and turned the conversation to things she was passionate about. It meant I didn't have to talk too much (I think one of the biggest game killers most guys have is talking too much), and it also meant she was with me and thinking passionately, focusing on keeping your own state is important, but don't neglect the girl's state. You are leading the interaction after all, her enjoyment and mood are in your hands - be a value giver and make her feel good, if you can't manage that then just make her feel instead of think.

We get to the bowling alley and I start to think it was a bad idea for a day 2, we sit apart on the bench and jokingly banter about how ugly the shoes are. As we get into the game I realise I was wrong and bowling is an awesome first date idea; conversation is limited so you don't need to worry about what to say, but you get so many opportunities to throw some cocky-funny banter after each go, it makes the game more fun and in my experience most girls love light-hearted competition. I solved the kino problem by high-fiving when either of us did well, and playful shoves when we she gave me jip for gutter-balling.

We go back to hers with the intention of watching a movie over some wine, but we're having too much fun to sit around and my playful ribbing of her film collection leads to great conversations about films, books and music, which almost everyone is passionate about. She tells me which instruments she plays and I ask her to show me, on some level I'm asking her to prove herself to me and she starts to get nervous, I reassure her with a hand on her waist. I sit next to her on the piano stool and it gets a little intimate, she tries to play and sing but is too nervous. I back off and lighten the tone and be jokey that she owes me a song, she gets laughs back and tries to flee the keyboard so I go caveman and try carry her back. She knocks her hand and I kino her wrist checking it, no apology is needed.

We sit down and I ask about her tattoos, I touch each one as i look at them and she talks about the reasons behind them.

The conversation turns to sex, one her guy friends has told her I'm a manwhore, it always confuses how people get this opinion of me when I never feel that successful with women, a friend in the past has said because I've got an answer for everything I'm too smooth. She asks how many people I've slept with and I get her to answer first, I answer honestly, I know the correct shit-test responses but I don't need them, I'm a sexually open person and the confidence to answer honestly and most importantly, unashamedly, is a powerful way to answer in my opinion. She tells me she's old-fashioned and has never slept with anyone she wasn't in love with, she asks if I've ever been in love and i answer honestly with no. This isn't looking good for me so I ask her what her favourite position is telling her I can tell so much about a person from it. I use this to tease and push-pull.

The night ends with a kiss on the cheek and she posts a fb status dropping my full name about what a fantastic night she had. I'm happy with the result, if I want her I know I'll have to play the long game, and if I just want to be friends I know she has a tonne of good female friends that will be interested in the fantastic guy she had such a good time with.
