I spent this Saturday with my friend, his girlfriend, and his girlfriend's friend HB8 at the girlfriend's camper. Our friend we'll call Douche is going to show up, and he's more physically attractive than myself. I say "hi" to chick, she doesn't respond, but she seems shy and I take it as a bitch shield, which I considered a shit test, which i considered an IOI, so it didn't throw me off. Go outside with best friend to start the fire, do it all myself and he goes back inside and plainly DHVs for me by saying I did it all and I'm awesome at it etc. Go outside with them, get a look from HB8, just know Bob is going to fuck it up. Bob shows up and we go smoke a bowl. Starts talking about how much he smokes, I talk to him about it figure might as well hold conversation in front of her but I'm really just helping him DHV because he's telling stories, although I'm genuinely interested in most of them. Go back to campsite and we sit around the fire roasting marshmallows. He takes my stick like "I'll roast it for you", I'm like nah you can make your own though. Keeps grabbing at it, I end up eating a premature marshmallow just so he won't get it from me. Douche calls me an idiot and a half-serious tone among other dickish things. Sleep in camper, be like hey Douche you can sleep on bed with me and we'll divide it with the blanket so you're not on the floor (HB8 in adjacent room hopefully listening). Convince him to do it despite his "I sleep on wood floors all the time", hopefully I appear more alpha having convinced him to do something, and being the guy who has something to offer to the other, even if it was for his own good. Maintained my frame as kind while being alpha, so hopefully she saw that as me not giving a damn earlier and just being relaxed.. in case I see her again this summer.
