Hi seddit, so I went to a party last night with a couple friends and knew I wanted to make the most of it. I knew a good portion of the people there so I definitely got a lot of proofing and introductions to other people. I stepped it up a notch and introduced myself to anyone that looked interesting to talk to. My mind frame was to make friends and have fun and it worked because the party was a blast for me.
I'll make this easy to digest:
HB 8 - Made eye contact with her right when I stepped into the party. She looked like she was having a shitty time (I probably should have teased her about it) so I kind of ignored her. I don't want to have someone bring down my mood. I noticed she was kind of hovering around me almost like she was waiting for me to say something to her (lots of instances of eye contact throughout the night too) but again I ignored it and continued having fun with other people. Later on I asked her for her name and she waved no with her hand. I think she thought I was asking her to take a shot (I had a bottle of tequila in my hand) so I just gave her a 'wtf' kind of look and walked away.
How do you handle a situation like this? Obviously I should have talked to her before hand with a better opener (possibly teasing her stony demeanor at a really fun party) that doesn't just involve directly asking her name. My response was just to ignore it and find someone else to talk to
HB7 - I met this girl before but I never really talked to her because I didn't care to. I'm standing next to her talking to a group of people and she taps me on the shoulder and tells me we met before. It takes me a while to remember her since we met so long ago but after that we start talking more 1 on 1. She's asking me a bunch of questions and I make fun of her about this and that. This girl was definitely dishing out the IOI's. She had intensely flirty eyes, was laughing / smiling at nothing in particular, and when I asked her to take a shot with me she bit her lip, smiled and said sure. Now this is where I'm kicking myself. I had to leave somewhere in the middle of the party and when I got back she was leaving. She hugged me bye and I never got a number or anything. I had clear chances to ask her for her # and I never did.
Where is the middle ground between being assertive and being pushy? When is the best time to go further? Overthinking is a sedditor's worst nightmare.
HB5 - By the time I met this girl I was already pretty trashed. We were outside and I don't remember what we were talking about but I left to go back in and get another drink. She follows me in and when I leave to go back outside without her she grabs me and asks me for my number. I give it to her and then I don't remember what I did after. I came back after and had her sitting with me on the same chair. After some goofy indecision that definitely hurt the whole attraction building I just left.
Overall the night was really fun but I think I have a serious problem with following through which is most likely resultant from my years of repression. What are some tips/advice you sedditors can give me to stop thinking so much?
I really don't mean to brag and please don't take it as arrogance but I feel like I have a really good foundation for inner game and last night made it apparent to me that when I act like myself and get outside of my damn head when talking to people I become pretty damn awesome. One other thing I NEED to work on especially in regards to last night was kino. I did it here and there but I need to actively make it more of an integrated part of talking to other people.
