I know it's long, please bear with me.

There's this girl who I met in my class. As we were leaving, I managed to talk to her. She seemed receptive, and offered to drive me back home. Along the way, I was able to keep a conversation. As she stopped at my front, I asked for her number. She gave it to me with no hesitation.
I texted her a few hours later, with the typical comforting goodwill message. No reply. I texted her two days later, she apologies for not texting.

This texting goes on back and forth for two weeks. I know, I know. The iron probably cooled off by then. HOWEVER, once I did ask her out, she replied back saying that she was "going to mention that :]". I tried to set up a time a few days later on in the late evening—however she had class—tried to get a time after her class; but she had other plans.
As we are close to the time of the date, she texts me saying that she's working on a paper and she's on a roll, therefore she can't make it. However, she provides amnesty by wanting to hang again soon. I play it off by telling her to not worry about it.
Sometimes she would not reply to my opening texts, sometimes she would. As I wait for class to begin outside, I didn't notice her sitting next to me. She calls my name. We chat for a bit, and I decide to sit with her. As we're sitting, slight kino is initiated. Her guy friend comes late, now it's a slight skirmish for attention—obviously not seeming to want her attention.
Coffee-close (no not that one)
The second time, I sit next to her again. I noticed she's sleepy, and has coffee. We both are kind of sleepy. I noticed she's dozing off—as so myself. THEN, I accidentally nudge the caffeinated beverage. Spilling it on to her lap. I apologized wholeheartedly. She says it's "okay". After helping her clean it up. I apologize again, she seemed okay with it. I say goodbye.
The aftermath
I texted her a few a days after that, just opening with class-related stuff (do we have homework? etc.) However, three texts in a row (over a span of two weeks)—no response.
I see her in class, and we acknowledge each others presence with a hello—but that's it.
Reflection I know where my strong points were—and points where I need to improve on.
Strong Points
-Able to #-close
-Carry on a conversation in person/text
-Got to d-close
Things to improve on
-Strike while the iron is hot (time span of a few days, not weeks..)
-DON'T SPILL COFFEE ON THE GIRL YOU'RE TRYING TO GET AT
I know my faults, and I'm not beating myself over it—except maybe the coffee. But, this experience is something that I will learn from my mistakes from—one that will help improve my future missions.
TL;DR No matter how innately bad a situation can get, always learn from the mistakes and improve on it—knowing that at least it happened; rather than it not happening at all.
