Note - this is getting long so I've added headings for those that want to skip a bit.
the set up
So last weekend I went to a nerd-day "code jam" someone rents a space and dozens of programmers show up with their laptops to build web pages, mobile apps, eat, dring, socialze be merry, etc...
As you can imagine an event like this is packed wall to wall with beautiful women. Literally everywhere you look is dripping with hotness. I should probably add that if this is what you were thinking, you were definitely imagining. If 200 people showed up, 180 of them were dudes.
So when I saw a stunning, tall slender woman walking through the crowd, in a flowing blue sundress she really stood out from the crowd. We're talking russian runway model good looks.
What's more is that in this sea of dudes, nobody was making eye contact and she had that air of "displacement" about her. She knew nobody. I also knew nobody but was merrily chatting away with the world.
I made my way over to where she was sitting and struck up a conversation. Over the next few hours we chatted and got along. I started introducing her to other people I'd met in the day, I'd help with programming issues when she was stumped and generally had a fun time.
I tried a few "stealth seduction" kino moves over the day and was getting a read that her "buying temperature" was a bit low... when I tested the waters with (whatever the line was) her response of "I don't think my husband would like that" I was clear as to why she was a bit mild. edit2: this is not the woman I am asking about, married=move on indeed
No matter - she's still hot as hell and we're having an awesome time. I carried on.
Later in the day when it came time to present what we'd built, I was one of just a few to come up with a working product. Further, owing to the massive amount of "inner game confidence" I'd built over the day by being chatty, I gave a really kick ass presentation (even if I do say so myself).
In line for dinner, I wound up meeting another group of women hwho showed up just for the meal and the booze. One was really hot and personable and nerdy ... we chatted for a bit then I let her go off and join her friends for dinner.
the meeting
After eating I went outside to chat with a large group of people, and an absolute stunner (Scarlet Johansen) was loudly entertaining a group of guys with an embarrassing story. I chipped in with something even more embarrassing but about guys in general.
She laughed and introduced herself. We chatted for a bit and it turns out that she lives just a few minutes from me so I for and got her number to go for a drink sometime. We also exchanged facebook. Turns out she's a fitness and figure model. Full on perfect 10.
the follow up(s)
A couple days later (Monday) I invited her out to this really cool event that was happening in a few days. She replied that she'd love to but had a competition to win. I wished her luck and left it at that. Friday I tried again and invited her to lunch (as it turns out she also works just up the road) ... "slammed at work" was the reply.
the question to seddit
On the surface this might look like it's something in mid-flake but she was definitely attracted enough to give me her contact info, and she keeps replying to my invites (even if it's just to turn them down for now). I don't see the cause as lost by any means. However, she's also definitely somewhere between a 10 and an 11 on the hotness scale so there's a different game I've got to use to make a conversion from chatting to hanging out.
Any advice for this situation? She kinda feels like she's in that pre-mid-flake space. She likes me but maybe doesn't quite have enough DHV or whatever at the moment I've only got facebook and can probably send the occasional message (before sounding a bit too "clingy" and into her)
What are my options? I'm not in a oneitis situation or anything but would like to see what ideas are out there.
My own thoughts at this point are to keep inviting her out to the occasional interesting thing or for a casual drink but without doing it all the time (weekly ish?). Possibly short notice invites like "Having beers at X with friends, stop by if you're free" or "Going to see Y on Saturday, interested?" Not entirely sure if that's lame or awesome but it's the best I can come up with.
This one may or may not be a lost cause but I'd love to figure out what works/doesn't work in time for the next one :)
TL;DR got the facebook of a fitness model at a programming event. Have tried inviting her out twice (event, lunch) got "too busy" twice. Looking for ways to move forward.
