I go to De Anza college, it's a community college in the bay area, and there are truly very few attractive girls. So it's really lucky that i happen to have one in my english class. Anyway, just as i began looking at her as a potential target, my teacher put us in groups, with mine being me, her and another guy.

It went perfect. First, i stayed in my desk and so they came across the room and met where i was. And then the teacher came and explained our job to me, calling me our leader. So i was already established as the alpha in the group. And once we started working, i said smart things and she agreed with everything i said, an IOI. She also mirrored all my body language.

Then i had to show her i was also playful, because so far it had just been serious group work. So since i was driving the work and conversation, i started outside-conversation, asking her and the guy questions and telling them about myself. She really laughed at all the jokes i said, even some non-jokes. And even the guy laughed at my stuff. Then we presented to the class really well and sat back with the class for the next hour.

After class I chased her down. She was walking with a guy that walks with her after every class. He's a nice guy that definitely likes her but hasn't made progress. I interrupted them and said, "Hey, let me get your number, we gotta hand out." The other guy said, "well ill see you later then." And i stayed and got her number. I felt like such a boss and it felt great.

Half an hour later I wanted to start some texting with her, so i said, "Hey, it's me from english class, here's my number." she responded, "Haha. For sure. Thanks." I wanted to start some playful conversation, to establish some friendship, because we'd only talked in that group. So i said, "You don't even know my name do you :)"

and she never replied. Class is two days later and i can't stop reanalyzing everything. I'm starting to realize that when i asked her for her number she might have been really weirded out, since we barely knew each other, plus i kind of interrupted her and the AFC's conversation. And by saying you don't even know my name do you :)" i was hoping to jumpstart playful talk but i'm worried she's like, "Who is this guy? We've only talked in a group in class for 15 minutes!" and her never responded might make next class awkward.

What do you think? To clarify, she definitely thinks i'm confident. I'm 6' 4'' and never showed an ounce of nervousness when talking to her in person

edit: all great responses, thank you guys
