Went for a trip to NYC with some friends.

They all had a long time friend (let’s call her X) who lived in the city and one night we started that night out there. Met up, introduced myself to friend and also her room mate (very cutie, call her Y)

Got to a bar started drinking a bit with everyone. Started talking to X to learn more about her since she was from the same city as me originally, didn’t really give to much attention to Y. At some point we where all in a group and I made a joke. Y laughed and reached out for my hand. Took that as whatever and started teasing her a little later just to see if she was also into it. Seems like she was, went to different bars as a group continued to tease, finally went for a kiss she moved off. Which was fine, I’ll again later.

About an hour in to going out my friend who I was with also started telling me that he's known Y for a while and that she had mentioned to him to come through later after the clubs close.

Since I know this guy for a while I backed off and took him at face value.

But as the night progressed she continued sending signals of being interested in me. Holding my hand, laughing at jokes, ect. And I escalated once more after not giving her to much attention. At one point I was just me and her. She reached out took my hand, she was dancing by herself and I was taking a sip of my drink. Went for her hand to pull her in and she backed off. Long story short, my friend I mentioned before ended up going home with her. It seemed like she was going to go with home regardless since she known him for a while.

But I’m still confused on what her objective was?

Any women I’ve meet before who shown interested like she did, eventually allowed me to escalate. She was the first women who continuously shown interested but didn't allow me to escalate.

I know there's a lesson here but I’m not sure I understand what it is.
