This community has really opened my eyes and taught me valuable lessons, so I'm writing this as a way of giving back. Hopefully this helps or entertains some of you. This story will be of more use to undergrads, as it takes place at a college.

I went to visit a lot of friends at their school for a few days one weekend. One friend was turning twenty one, so there was a party at his apartment before the bar at midnight. Everyone (thirty or so people) was already drinking when I arrived a few hours before midnight. It was a surprise visit, so when I got to the place my friends (about half of the people there) were ecstatic to see me. High fives and hugs all around. Social proof.

I like to drink and get drunk. Drinking is fun to me, but if you would like to think that I use it as a crutch, do whatever the fuck makes you happy. After making my way through the apartment to the kitchen I took some shots with a few friends, and we poured ourselves drinks. I go to the porch/outside where most of the people are, and I start catching up with friends.

About half an hour after arriving I joined a conversation near me on the porch between a friend of mine and this gorgeous brunette. Couldn't tell you what the conversation was about, but my friend went elsewhere a few minutes later. Perfect.

The two of us are still talking and I bring the conversation to a stop after a minute or two, realizing I have done no kino (this was a few weeks after finding seddit, so I was reading a lot). So I said something like, "Wait, we've been talking for a little now and I don't even know your name". We shake hands and learn each other's name. After that I would touch her arm every so often during conversation. We talked about where she is from, high school sports she played, majors, jobs, mutual friends, our age, etc. I kept strong eye contact the entire time and maintained a shit-eating grin. The conversation was flowing well and my smile was rubbing off on her. Mirroring. I teased her calling her an asshole/jerk for getting penalties in high school sports. When we talked about what we were drinking I didn't ask her to try her drink, I just took a sip after saying, "let me try". At one point she mentioned how I had three of my shirt's buttons undone. That confirmed for me that the attraction was there.

When the cabs came to take everyone to the bar I convinced her to come with me where the birthday boy was going instead of a different bar where her friends were going. I said that we would go to both bars. When we got the bar I led her in through the door with my hand on her back. The same kino was repeated about each time we went up to the bar to get drinks.

Chose not to give a shit about one rule on here, and bought drinks for both of us. We went to the area where the group was and I sat next to my best friend on a couch, while she stood at the edge of the group for some reason. I waved for her to come sit next to me and she did. The night starts to get a little blurry here. Pretty much any talking was done mouth-to-ear because of how loud the music was. After a little while, I went in for the kiss. Didn't get it, so I continued on with conversation. Over the course of about an hour the girl and I each mingled with different friends as the bar filled out more with people.

I rounded up two of my friends who I knew were down to bar hop and the girl, and we got a cab to bar two. We were all pretty drunk upon arrival at the second bar, so I lost my friends quickly. However, the girl and I got drinks, and then played a game of pool. If we were getting drinks at the same time I were hold her hand and lead the way through the crowd. Waiting for the last drinks we would get, I learned about some not-so-common things we have in common as she opened up. This girl was really cool. She said I was cute, so I went for a kiss and succeeded this time. We drank and talked a little longer before closing time. At the end of the night, we had lost each other (without me getting her number too).

The next day I was hanging out with a friend when I check a social network and see a message from her. I had totally forgotten we had connected on there. So I get her number on there, and after a bit of texting she agrees to go out for drinks the next night.

The next day didn't go as planned. I got drunk during the day with people (I miss college), and passed out until about midnight when a friend woke me up. The girl and I texted briefly before I passed out. I get out of bed and talk to her briefly before I'm out of the door on my way to the bar to meet her.

We hug when I finally get to the bar, and then make our way to who she was with. Turned out that she was with more friends of mine that I hadn't seen yet in my visit (even more social proof). Between just waking up and an extreme hangover, keeping my cool was tough.

At closing time we parted ways with our mutual friends outside of the bar, and start walking toward her apartment, and where many of my friends live. I hold her hand and she asks me if we had kissed the other night. I said, "Yes, I'll refresh your memory." We made out quite a few times on the walk back to her place. We stopped often because she would tell me that we wouldn't be going to her place. Eventually we were outside of her place talking with her neighbors. Even when we were in front of her place she said I couldn't stay. She went inside for some food and I followed. She offered me some of what she was eating, but I couldn't eat. I asked if she had a phone charger and I followed her to her room where she had one. Making out in her room, she was still saying that I couldn't sleep there. Took some of her clothes off and then mine. Wasn't told I couldn't stay anymore. F-close.

That night my hangover got the best of me. Four times while with her in fact. However, I would always manage to make it to the bathroom or somewhere else away from her. I failed to meet with her again the next time I visited after that because I did not maintain an abundance frame of mind.
