I saw her on the bus again and it was funny. I touched her arm in a polite way and said, "Hey [her name], how's it going?"

She said, "Okay." in a very distanced manner. I could feel the awkwardness. I wasn't deterred.

I said, "Yeah how are classes going?" Her: "Good." Me: "Yeah I was going to ask you for coffee but I inputted your number in wrong." Her: "Okay."

At this point, her leg was shaking, she said the s-word, got her textbook out to "read and study" it, and then she texted someone for a few minutes. Then she moved her textbook farther away from me.

She was subconsciously trying to get away from the situation. She probably gave me a fake # and didn't want me to approach again.

I get quiet since there's no point trying to go for someone that distant.

The funny part: At this point, the bus was absolutely crowded. So I had nowhere to go. I stayed silent and waited until my bus stop comes. Then I left. During the bus ride, I was calm, outcome independence at its finest.

My thoughts:

  • No one cared about my situation because they were too busy talking to one another or listening to music.

  • I was calm like a hindu cow because it's her loss. I'm awesome and that's one less person I have to worry about.
