Alright, approached ~15 girls a week ago - going on 3m after break up - ultimately no success, a few flaky numbers, but still no dates. So I do what I usually do, sat down, reflected, practiced some technique I thought I was rusty with, still having bouts of drama/depression with ex, but I'm on the road to dating great girls, again, can feel it.

So, I go out to a warm up venue, walk around, get a feel for being around people, talk to some clerks to get some social momentum. Get out of there, a few girls, but I'm still not that warmed up. Go to the main venue, start out with a few girls, getting beat up a little by AA - understandable, took a week break. Walk around some, random guy compliments my shoes, we get into a conversation about the new Yeezys, more momentum. Walk some more, not many girls, just couples shopping, run into some friends, talk some then, more momentum.

Now I see some girls, I see two, I can't decide who to approach, and hesitate way too much. Wait for the one I ultimately decide on, way too nervous, still, but I force myself to walk up and say "Hey" and compliment her on her hair, didn't take a good look at her, she has butter face/looks older, so I kinda just walk away awkwardly because I wasn't interested. Either way, warm up outta the way, my brain's now more comfortable talking to pretty strangers.

Here's the highlight of the night, see a group of girls, they look about 20, perfect because I'm 21. They hover tons in the candy aisle, and the target stands near me for a second, I'm about to approach but they go to check out. Surprisingly they come back and go to another part of the store, another girl runs into them, talks some. But finally, I walk over, grab the group's attention, and ask the girls who aren't the target to come over, "Hey, can you two come here for two seconds, I wanted to ask you something!" they comply. Once they're over, I start messing around in a whisper - "So, you two have to keep this a secret, shhh. But I have a crush on your friend, can I talk to her?"

Very congruent and natural, they're receptive and tell me it's fine and to go talk to her. Walk up, say "Hey, you look stunning in that outfit" introduced myself, and we started to vibe, she didn't really hook, but some girls are just that way, so I persist some, ask her about her job, connect some on childhood, because we grew up in the same place, then I ask her out on a high point, "Hey, when're you free for a drink so I can get to know you better?" she ultimately says she has a boyfriend, but I eject gracefully and get outta there.

Do a few more approaches, but the girls aren't quality and seem fatalistic and trapped in victim mentality, so I just vibe some and eject. Don't really have time or space for those types of people in my life in any aspect, even one night stands.

Takeaways:

  • Do an approach or two just to warm up, so your brain is reminded that beautiful women won't bite your head off
  • Great way to approach a group is to be up front, and let everyone in the group know you like the girl, and ask their permission to talk to her - it's attractive as hell
  • Getting rejected by the dime is better than settling for the seven, I don't think you truly understand that phrase until you live it. The times I actually get results with dimes is when I feel better than any other time approaching.
  • Don't be very technical in person and hide behind a wall of techniques, be congruent with yourself and act natural, but consciously monitor a thing or two when you're in set, not everything
