Thought i'd document some of my approaches. Been trying my luck for about 16 months, but not really happening for me so far.

Anyway,

First approach was on a group of 3 girls. I opened with 'hey, how's you're night going?'' They were relatively receptive, I guess. I asked them where they'd been that night (only that bar) and how they knew each other (just said ''friends from years back'') Wasn't sure what to say now. Looking around for inspiration! I noticed her drink. Commented on it and asked what it was. Then it kind of died out and she started talking to her friend next to her, and kind of closed her body language off from me, so I said 'bye' and bailed

My friend tried his luck on her friend, but got the same result as me.

Next approach was on a girl standing at the bar. I opened with ''Hey, I like your jacket! Reminds like Tyler Durden in fight club''. She laughed. I said ''You seen that film?'' She said ''yeah'' but then she turned away to get a straw from the barman, and when he gave it to her, she just walked off fairly abruptly, so couldn't have been interested.

Next approach: A few girls were dancing on the little dancefloor. Made eye contact, smiled - and tried the 'hand of god' type thing so we could dance, but she wagged her finger as if to say 'no' and looked at me a bit like I was weird for trying. Embarrassing, lol.

Next approach: Opened a girl and commented on her having the same phone as me. We spoke about that for a few seconds. I asked her what she was doing tonight. Asked her name and where she was from (everyone here lives her and has always lived here, so it's a bit of an uninteresting question, I guess). Wasn't sure what to say now. Again, looking around for inspiration. Always trying to put Observation to use to give me things to talk about, but seemed difficult. Commented on her drink, lol. She asked what I was drinking. Knew I needed to say something to tease her or 'spike her emotions' or something, but couldn't think of anything, and she made her excuses and we parted ways.

Finally, there were a new group of 3 super hot girls walked into the bar, but my confidence was a bit shot at this point, and I failed too approach.
