I saw this as the top post in this subreddit and just wanted to add that this isn't exclusive to pickup game but rather life in general.

I've had a period in my youth where I was too self-judgemental and hard on myself to the point where during social situations I would benefit from saying my opinion but was too scared to follow through it.

I'm still working on it though, not saying it's easy to overcome but it's something that needs to be dealt with.
