"This DJ is sick so I came out, lets dance!" Ravers don't really care about your life story/why you are there. It's all about fun and vibe. Leave the heavy stuff like social proof and all that crap at the door. Just enjoy the night.

Going to raves alone will force you much more to talk ppl up and stuff like that. Can only recommend it. More often than not, having friends or a wing with me was basically what was holding me back, so just go and see where you get, you'll like it :)

Go for it. You can either respond that you are there with friends for social proof or do what I do which is create your own social proof. Respond that you really love the music and meeting other people that are into it too.

OP i know how you feel about your situation with dancing and meeting girls at raves and im pretty new to the rave scene and im struggling as well and one thing i have learned so far is to not ask a girl "do you want to dance". i'm pointing this statement out as to if u were to walk up to some random girl. however it might work if she is eyeing you or you two are already in the middle of a conversation. It is respectful asking that, but it kind of makes you come across as a pussy. also, do not walk up to a girl from behind and start grinding on her. Trust me on that one. It's not a high school dance. I've been reading a couple posts lately and from my own experience at raves with dancing with a girl, I think you should just focus on having fun. All the raves, festivals, clubs, bars, etc. that i've been to, I see people in general just being attracted to where the "fun" is happening. In the case for raves, a group of people headbanging or dancing. Pretend to act like you're having fun if you have to(i even do that if im not feeling the vibe even at bars and clubs). Make eye contact around the girls around you and smile. if she does the same, throw out your hand to her. if she grabs it, then the door has been opened. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xan-qp3L0iE check this video out too.
