As someone who is female and dates primarily online and of both genders, I can confirm that ditching dates is rather common across the board. My friends are often surprised by the trend, but I've found that if I get all dressed up, it's best not to waste that energy. Go do something awesome, alone, with friends, whatever.

Online dating is fucking terrible - so many flakes at every step of the process. If this is Tinder we're talking about, multiply that times a thousand. Don't feel bad, just out yourself out there. Go out to a bar in a tight dress and make eye contact with guys who are appealing to you - you'll definitely meet at least a few guys, and hopefully you'll like one/some of them*.

*If you're overweight, then this might not work as well, but losing weight is a lot easier than gaining muscle, and it'll make all the difference in the world. I'm not assuming you're fat, just throwing this in there because it's really the only thing that would stop the "short tight dress, go out and seem inviting" plan from working.

Thanks for the replies guys. It was okcupid. This last time I really thought I had some chemistry with this guy. He kept calling me gorgeous and said I was a rare to find, and he was the one wanting to meet in the first place and now this happened. I know I should not let this get in me, but I am just depressed right now.. I might never find the right guy.

1. Now you understand how men feel. Women do this much more often than men do. Not your fault, just letting you know.

2. 5 is a tiny sample size. Isn't significant at all. Online dating take a lot of work, time, and dates. If you had a much larger sample size, I'd ask if there is a difference between responses from tall hot guys and what you call average.

3. Have you tried speed dating? At least you get to meet them in person. Other social events work too.

4. Do you get approached in public, in malls, restaurants, bars, walking down the street? How often?
