Super likes on Tinder- are these a bad idea? It feels like straight away you're putting them on a pedestal.

There is no "magic trick". Most of us had approach anxiety - the only real way is just to grit your teeth and just do it. It's not easy, but that's why most guys suck with women, you need to be better than most of them. I wouldn't buy it - maybe those magic tricks would help you with your anxiety but you know what the problem is? With this kind of openers you immediately fall into entertainer role, making a transition to a sexual guy role is harder than you think. That was the whole concept of Mystery Method and that's why it is so damn overcomplicated. My personal advice: just grab your balls and open with whatever comes to your mind as you see her - "I love your tattoos", "I saw you and I just have to say hello", or even "Do you have the time?" and then just talk to her. It will be hard, it will often be creepy and you'll bomb a lot of approaches but trust me, you'll get good way faster than using canned lines as a crutch.

I agree with all of this - the problem though is that it seems like opening a set is completely different from going up to an individual girl. The latter is fine (just use jealous girlfriend for example) but none of the examples you cited would help with a group? What do you personally do with a group? Also I'm slightly confused by what you said about mystery method- are you saying it's good or not!?

But yes, I 100% agree with the idea that I need to grab my balls and go for it. Easier said than done though.

I didn't catch you meant groups, my bad. To be honest, I rarely bother with them - I'll somehow usually meet a lone girl I like when going out. But I think the same principles apply, except it's harder especially when the group is big (you're kinda invading their space, especially when they don't really look to meet anyone new, with big mixed groups in bars this is often the case). You definitely need good conversation skill. It's best to do it with a wingman, if you don't have one - again, just tell what's on your mind ("you look the most fun in this place" at night, a light compliment or asking for directions during the day), start talking with them all and gradually focus on the girl you like. This is my general strategy when I open pairs, as I already said I pretty much never bother with bigger ones. And about Mystery Method: I think it's important in PUA history, but is now obsolete. I was into it as most guys who read The Game but it always felt weird remembering all the routines and complex rules. Some time later I read Models by Mark Manson and never came back to Mystery, instead focusing on my appearance, body language and just having honest interactions with girls, not hiding my interest in them. It gave 100x better results and most important - that's what feels natural to me. I strongly recommend reading it if you didn't yet ;)

Thanks man. I will check out that book. If I wanted to read more about how the mystery method was obsolete where could I turn? I don't really understand how it can be obsolete- if it worked once, it will always work- women havn't evolved into a different species in the last ten years?

"Obsolete" doesn't mean that something ceases to work - it means that it's not worth using when there are better new solutions available. That's exactly how I think about Mystery Method - along with The Game it caused PUA to go mainstream and a lot of people started practicing it. Mark Manson himself was a hardcore typical PUA before he changed his mindset and wrote Models, which I think is a lot simpler and natural way to be attractive. Also most seduction coaches turned this way, I don't know anyone who teaches Mystery-style game anymore. But still, that's just my opinion. If you follow it to the letter and get good results, good for you!

ok man. thanks for your help!

The reason I'm asking is because- frankly- I am too terrified to 'open a set' without a magic trick, without using the opener, 'Hi Im an amateur magician, I'm just going to take one minute of your time to practice a trick'.

If anyone has some easier suggestions as to how to open a set I'm all ears however! But the ideas I got from reading 'the mystery method' I cannot imagine using (going up to group and saying things like 'did you see that fight outside). I sort of feel like a lot of the 'openers' in that book would not work with a UK audience (I could be wrong of course).
