When I first starting doing cold approach pickups in 2011, I took it super seriously, doing multiple approaches every single day for months on end. I would do the usual PUA things like writing field reports, going out with wings, approaching everyone, etc. I eventually became a bit jaded and burnt out from the rejections that started to accumulate so I ended up taking a break from 2013 to just a few months ago, focusing on online and a bit of social circle game.

I recently started going out to do cold approaches again and was shocked at how much easier it has become. Sure, the mechanics of my opening had gotten rusty since I hadn't "cold approached" a stranger in years but I noticed girls becoming interested in me at a faster rate. I've noticed a few things (could just be my own observation):

  1. I've noticed that nowadays girls are less aware of people who learned "game" since the community basically died since RSD went down (only a few good smaller pick-up channels nowadays but that's it). Back in 2011, I would easily be able to find wings online very easily and seemed the presence of PUAs were a lot bigger. Nowadays, I've noticed some girls actually surprised and appreciative that I came up to them, compared to before where I received a lot of instant brush offs.
  2. I also think social media has made pick up way easier too. The weirdest thing I've noticed is that I can have a good 2-5 minute interaction with a girl, get her Instagram, and message her briefly and she'll actually be down to meet me. Whereas before I would need to have a much longer convo and get her number (otherwise I'd be another "number" lost in her contact book that she would forget about - not the case with Instagram nowadays)

Can anyone else relate to this?
