You could be upfront and tell you are not much of a texting person and prefer to talk in person. Too much back and forth usually isn't a good thing in the early stages anyway. I texted a lot with my now ex-wife but that's different.

I just reply with whatever comes to my head. I’ve done the overthinking evey text and I still do a tiny bit. But I found it’s better to just reply with the first thing I think of
