So I recently started talking some girl I dated for a few months a while back. She broke things of with me because a close relative passed and said she needed a bit of space. I oblidged and gave her the space and never heard from her again untill recently. One thing I noticed is that she used to start with 'Heyy' everytime. Until the day she told me she wanted some space, that day she sarted with 'Hey' but when we started talking again shes texting with 'Heyy'.

Another scenario, I'm friends with this other girl from Uni and when we initially started talking she started with 'Heyy'. I could tell she was somewhat into me but I didn't make a move coz she wasnt my type, she started with 'Hey' not too long ago (I have no problem with this, she wasnt even on my radar).

I can't count the number of times I've seen 'heyy' when Im talking to girls who I think they intrested in me only for them to start using 'Hey' when I didn't make a move (I was a huge pussy back then and I couldn't ask a girl out even if my life depended on it). My lab partner even heyyed me, so now I'm confused.

This might not make sense to the older folk but it might to my fellow Gen Zs. I've heard that it means that a girl likes you but I never thought much about it but its happening so often right now. I even went thru older chats with some exes and I see the pattern.

So I'm I tripping or is this really a thing that girls do?
