There is a universal rule, that you never give in to a girls attempts to see you, at least at first.

I learned it from Dazed and Confused, my father, my older bros, and even my favorite puas.

What the hell? Get it together, man. You need to BE hard to get. Abundance, high value, self-worth. If you do not really fix yourself then you are doing this for all the wrong reasons. People join this community to become better humans, not to trick people.

In my opinion to play hard to get means you won't jump at the first sight of hanging out with her or talking to her. I mean, you have to HAVE A LIFE. Thats very important. Don't drop everything to be with her or talk to her, maintain your life and she will see that you have a higher value and try to fit into it, thus making you kind of hard to get.

When on the phone with her and the conversation is going really really well, once in a while, tell her you have to go leaving her kind of on the edge of the conversation and that'll drive her insane ( in a good way )

I can give you a long list of things to do but most of all just HAVE A LIFE. Build some hobbies and remember that you only have one life and it doesn't revolve around chasing pussy

Don't act needy. You want to communicate to her by example that you are happy on your own and would continue to be happy if the two of you never got together. Little things can communicate this like NOT responding immediately to her messages every time. If you made real plans with real friends keep them or invite her to come along. Go light on the compliments. Too many and you start to sound desperate. A friend of mine likes this girl and said girl posts a picture of herself to facebook. Sure enough since she is an attractive blonde him and every other chump out there leave comments like 'you're so pretty'. If you are going to compliment someone compliment them on something they achieved vs something they are born with (their looks). I now have an attitude where I dont give a fuck if the girl is attractive. My attitude now is 'Ok so you're hot. What else you got going on for you?' Also it helps if you are chatting with more than one girl at the same time. For instance I have a date today but am also chatting with this super cute artsy girl that does yoga. I have options and knowing you have options sure does change the vibe you give off :)

Some girls that I didn't even notice, name or anything, I had apparently talked to at a number of parties. Now when I go to parties I go to drink, and I get smashed and remembers little sometimes, especially names.

I made quite an impression on this chick, she started texting me. I was just playing it cool, and was at another party in a different city, so I couldn't see her right then or even soon.

When I got back we hung out, 2 days laters F closed. a week later she said she was in love with me.

Just a side-note: what are you looking for? Something serious or casual? Because attraction that's built with techniques like playing "hard to get," is not attraction built on who you are, but rather, something artificial.

It's no problem if you want disposable, but if you want something serious at some point with a given girl, then "hard to get" will not be optimal because the attraction is based on a game and the moment you want to actually be yourself, you'll have to drop the game, which will lead to waning or disappearing attraction.

In general you have to strive to have a wide array of places to be and people to see. Don't be overly accomodating things that ( would ) require you to alter or check your schedule and talk often about your fun, interesting other friends and awesome activities you do. be seen with attractive women. be seen flirting with them if the situation demands it. I am assumeing that you can do this with the necessary subtlety. what you're going for here is " oh wow "this guy" is really popular, has an awesome , filled life and is surrounds himself with gorgeous girls all the time, he's probably so hard to get!" as you imagine there are inner and outer game ways to achieve this. have at it as you like.

this is the overall / in general stuff . this just helps you a little if you are in an actual conversation with a stranger. if you need to be hard to get "then and there" I have a couple of other ideas:

one of which you already kind of guessed. DHV. it's not synonymous with being hard to get but it is directly linked. think of it this way; do you think an actress, model or member of the royal family for all I fucking care is hard to get ? yes, huh ? you're probably right. why is that you think ? because they have high value ! they never gave you any direct indication to being difficult, yet you assume so nonetheless. it's exactly the same for you. you don't have to do anything " hard to get"-y at all, just DHV and the rest will work for you.
two, false disqualifiers. to again make a comparison if you were to approach identical twins on the same night, different moments not exchanging many words, but asking their numbers and one shoots you down and the other wants to date you. which one will you be more attracted to ? you know which one . it's the same with girls; we want what we can't have. make up a couple of bullshit reasons why you're out of her league and why you can't be a couple during the conversation and verbalize them
run the long con when you know you are going to see a girl again. be "too busy" for her and leave her when you've built some attraction. I've got girls I see every two weeks I've been gaming since february cause I'm so hard to (get) pin down.

some " hard to get openers "( yes they exist! ) : " it's going to take more than a pair of pretty blue eyes / being (kind of ) pretty / hot / beautiful to score with me but I'll give you a shot " ; " You're pretty cute, but personality is a dealbreaker for me. are you as nice as you look ? " ; " whoa at least buy me a drink first before you underss me with your eyes like that, I'm not that easy !"

Do you honestly think that playing hard to get is going to work in this day and age? Dazed and confused came out in the 90's, thanks to feminism women are more aware than ever about their sexual worth and abundancy theory. If you leave them alone for one second another guy will come along. You have to strike when the anvil is hot and make the anvil hot by striking. Look at this guy and these guys. Tier One military operators all share massive jaws and 8+ inch wrists. Most of them could kill us with their bare hands. I remember reading in a playboy magazine that playmates often date Navy Seals at some point in their lives. If a guy like that comes along do you think that a girl is going to wait around for mr funny, vaguely charming 6 inch wrist r/sedditor?
