The way you find out whether or not they’re interested in “more than friendship” is by asking. Be clear what your intentions are from the beginning. Don’t become friends with someone in the hopes that they will change their mind about you in the future.

You find the balance by being okay with either a “yes” or a “no” response.

That’s really it. There’s no secret special way to find out without putting yourself out there first.

It’s an easy mistake to make. Different women show attraction in different ways, so what could be signs of attraction for one could be signs of friendliness for others. Also, maybe the woman might not be sure and is acting inconsistently. But it sounds like you’re too worried about rejection. For asking a woman you’re superficially interested in out on a date, or flirting with her or getting to know her, there’s no need to worry about telling the difference between friendliness and attraction in advance. If you’re clear then you’ll be able to figure out whether she’s interested fairly quickly. And then you won’t miss out like you feel that you have before. If you’re rejected, that’s fine. Move on.

Women live ambiguously. You don't know how she feels, she doesn't know, nobody knows until you make her decide. You must force her to decide, and many of those decisions won't be in your favor. The alternative is the friendzone.

Argue a little. You need to understand the game. Assert yourself, get her pissed off at you over something stupid. Friend zone just means you're trying too hard to agree with everything she says, and she's bored. There's no spice, no attraction without conflict, only porridge.

If she is really attracted to you, it’s not a hard tell. Plays with hair, specific eye contacts, lip biting (this means she wants to have sex), laughs at all your jokes, may make physical contact.
