Ozzie's book The Physical Game deals with this a bit, or even more than a fit I think he goes fairly into it but I have not read it in a while so I can't say for sure.

How I deal with groups is that I don't deal with them. I go into the group with the girl I want to talk to in mind and then start trying to isolate her so its just me and her or maybe me her and her friend or whatever.

But if you find yourself in a group more important than anything is to offer value. They are most likely having fun so you have to be having even more fun and be contributing something positive. Stories are good but you have to own that shit and be congruent with it

For me it really depends on how big of a group it is, and what environment. If we are talking about a smaller group of lets say 3 girls then I will not focus on the one I want to fuck, but rather I mostly just neg her while I chat up her friends. After a while ill pull off some stuff like "hey ive been ignoring your friend here for a while, im gonna steal her from you girls for a while" grab her and walk out. I don't have a before set line that I use, but just something to isolate her from her friends. Go out for a smoke with her and sit somewhere more isolated. Then its just about continuing to escalate the kino, flirt&chat, kiss close, and take home. I believe this method was in The Game by Neil Strauss, and a technique Mystery uses.

If the group has guys, one good method is to befriend them first, and then move on to the chicks, as it also gives you social proof and this is pretty easy to do in a club or a bar for example.

Generally just normal ways to approach work, at least with smaller groups. With a bigger group starting off with something that happened (or didnt, but you made up) works out pretty well e.g. "did you girls just see what that guy did?" and act all astonished/surprised. Usually people will reply with something like "no i didnt, what happened?" assuming you are believable and that event that just took place or didnt is generally interesting. From here you can go with a few ways, either just sit down and start talking or say its a long story u gotta sit down (if the table is full for example, usually people will squeeze to make space). In a club setting with big groups generally it splits up into a few smaller conversations which then is a bit easier to go on with. From here on its the same routine, isolate, kiss-close, take home, BANG.

I suggest reading stuff from Mystery/Style (style= neil strauss). They talk a lot about group theory.

I don't have much experience with groups but I will tell you some advice that will help. First you should introduced yourself then ask all of them questions and bring up a interesting story to tell them. I hope this helps.
