I've been through the same deal. What I've done in those occasions is to just be straight forward and start by asking them 'just out of curiosity do you happen to have a girlfriend. Then if they say no, then you can be like 'that's hard to believe because you are a very attractive person.' and then just wait for what they say and boom! If they say they do, then to get rid of the awkwardness be like 'oh well I had a friend who is really interested in you' or something like that :) hope that helped and good luck!

Maybe he hasn't noticed you noticing him. What I mean by that is that I'm sure he's a great guy and hey! He may be interested in you, if he realized you were interested. Some of us guys can be really thick sometimes! Smile at him, Look at him, go order a drink next to him next time he orders a drink. Casually bump into him, and say, "Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry!" If you're really brave you could try to knock something over on him, and be like, "I am SO sorry!! Let me make up to you, let me buy you a drink, oh gosh i'm such a klutz." (even if you're not ;) )

Just some ideas but see if you can be a bit more forward. Also keep in mind that he may just not be into you. Best of luck!

Usually if a guy is sat alone in a bar he is caught up in his own mind and ignoring the rest of the world... (Unless it is a bar tender you mean?!) Either way keep any conversation light and playful, anything really to open a line of conversation. If he is at all human he should become smiley and warm to you. Ask him 'is X bar around the corner is any good' and you can ask him then if he wants to join you at said bar. That's how have been asked out before and it really worked. If he is despondent then you can shrug it off and you have the excuse of going to the other bar anyway if it for some reason becomes awkward. Good luck!

I don't think it's a guy you want to have sex with or be with if you need to lead him into going out with you.

I would personally just give him a big hint, and let him ask you out, but chances are the date won't be too amazing if he's too shy to lead you into a date with him.

But if you really like him! It's whatever!

You're not giving us much detail here to know what he is like. Guys can vary. I, myself, do not enjoy girls who are super forward -- I tend to auto reject them instinctively. What I look for is congruence between how much I've invested and how interested they become. If I've scarcely said more than one joke, then I expect the girl to still be in the curiously intrigued stage rather than the shut up and take my number stage.

EDIT: To illustrate, a girl literally just added me on FB yesterday. I had previously flirted with her once before but her aggressiveness here makes me second guess whether she's someone I'd like to take out.

So if you're dealing with a guy like me then the best methodology is this. (I'm assuming you already know him.) Be happy to see him. Laugh at all his jokes. Touch his arm when you laugh. Be intrigued and excited when you say things to him. Touch his hand. Occasionally look at his lips and his junk. Bite your lip. Occasionally look down out of fake nerviousness. After a while, get real close. Like you could accidentally headbutt his chin when you look down and up -- that close. If you're feeling bold, touch his chest. Then leave the rest to him.

If he doesn't get that then he is either dense or not interested. Drop hints at things you like to do or could do together. If he doesn't ask you out then, you'll just have to flatly ask for his phone. Save your contact info and send yourself a flirty text. Tell him to "Call me tomorrow." This sets up the timeline in which he is supposed to ask you out. It takes the pressure off of overthinking about it.

You added him on Facebook without having even talked to him? What.. Are you 15? You do not prefer to talk to him on Facebook first. Human interaction beats this noface-anonymous-bullshit any day. Next time you see him, you walk up, say hi and do tell him you think he looks great/cute/adorable, and go from there. Eventually ask if he would like to go out for food/coffee/drugs/sex whatever, he says yes? That's great, now get a number so the two of you can arrange a date.
