All confidence is, is a quantity of success someone has in their life.

The more successes / achievements in your life, the more times you've learned you can accomplish things.

The more times you've realized you've accomplished things, the more you realize you are capable of doing things

It doesn't matter if you were up to bat 100000 times, if you hit 1000 of those times you know that achievement is possible.

Mother fuckers don't realize confidence takes hard work, it takes patience, and it takes a lot of failing. That's why those who are NOT confident are cowards. They are scared to take risks. And they are meant to be. It's that simple, you're either confident or a coward. Ask yourself right now, which are you?

Those who are confident deserve and earned it, it's why you look up to them, it's why the guide you, it's why you envy them. They have the courage. I learned all this in the Marines.

Confidence = I have taken many risks = because I have taken many risks, I have succeeded many times.

This is why the gym is so easy. People get it so misconstrued. It's not you get more confident because you're bigger and tougher, that's such flawed logic. You're not tough or a badass cuz you throw inanimate objects around.

HOWEVER, the confidence comes from succeeding, and achieving. it's really easy to see visually, yourself getting stronger, gaining weight, and well, succeeding, plus you don't look have bad either.

You could easily achive the same success by passing a hard exam, getting CPR certified, taking an art class and painting, climbing trees, getting good at the piano......... you catch the drift.

If you're going to the gym to get bigger, and hence tougher, to gain confidence you're doing it for all the wrong reasons, and you'll probably end up getting your ass beat.

Accomplish something. That's the only thing that can build confidence. Be it increased weight at the gym, better scores on tests, setting goals and fulfilling them. Just accomplish something. And then don't stop.

Talk to some chicks that you wouldn't date, but you'd be OK/like being around. Also, there are finds of women in the sea of whores, so don't be afraid to take risks. So what I'd you mess up? You'll learn not to do it on that situation and you will learn, no matter if you're successful or not and you will be more confident in your ability to talk to them. Also, it is very important that you understand A) women and their signals and B) why what did/didn't work correctly else you will not do well. To build your confidence, there will be be risk, you have to be willing to take them. Only then can you learn and build your confidence.

At first you ask how you can become more confident, then you explain to us how and why you've already given up.

So I'm a do you a favor and answer the question that you asked, which is what you really need: how to get more confidence.

Confidence is like a muscle, and it grows the more you use it. If you haven't used it and are not very strong, and like a muscle, you need to start with smaller weights. As your confidence develops, you can move onto progressively tougher and tougher challenges.

The first thing to remember is that everyone, no matter how week are insecure, is confident about something. You can tap into that emotion and transfer it to other activities in your life.

To use a faintly ridiculous example, everyone is confident that they know their own name. They are confident of their ability to walk from point a to point B. They have basic skills or abilities that they have 100% confidence in their ability to execute.

Imagine yourself doing something, anything, that you're 100% completely confident that you were able to achieve. Familiarize yourself with that sensation. Immerse yourself. Then attempt something just outside your comfort zone, such as making eye contact or just saying "hi".

Your confidence will build, and you can move to higher and harder challenges in the same way.
