How do you avoid getting down when you see everyone around you in a relationship? how do you handle that?

I just close myself in my flat. And order everything from amazon.

That can be difficult. Only thing I can say is, I'd use that feeling of longing for something, and funneling it into something productive that will improve your life. Use it as a motivation to get out and approach, to spend more time with your friends if you're neglecting that. Anything that is productive, really.

It takes time but being okay with being alone, is a valuable skill. And you'll be much more okay with being alone if you have a lot of stuff you can do on your own, or with friends.

I picture them having really serious arguments. Like.... really stupid but really intense fights. Her: honey, seriously I've asked you a few times now to just rinse your dishes before leaving them in the sink.

Him: serious? This again? What's the big fucking deal, waters going to get on them eventually? Why do you have to nag at me like my mom?

Her:YEAH SEE THAT! THAT RIGHT THERE! AND YOU WONDER WHY I DON'T WANT TO SLEEP WITH YOU! MAYBE YOU MOM NAGS AT YOU BECAUSE YOU STILL ACT LIKE A FUCKING CHILD!

That and video games. Lots of video games with chips and guacamole.

I think being genuinely happy for others and believing that someday this could be you is what has always kept me from feeling down and comparing myself to others.

I think the biggest takeaway from seeing someone else happy or obtaining something that you truly want especially when it comes to having a healthy happy relationship, is that it is attainable. It is not a fantasy or dream. If they got it, then one day we will too. Relationships are a luck and a chance thing. You can get into the crappiest one or wait out for something that is worth your time. If you are single and looking, know that it actually a choice and standard you have made for yourself.

Many people even if you look around among family and friends have settled into relationships that are not happy or are toxic. I usually remind myself that I am better off alone, than doing that. That I am alone because I have made the choice to either break up with someone that didn't work out or not pursued someone that will not fit my standards.

If someone dumped us then we have to remind ourselves that the reasons could very well be within them, they weren't ready to accept love or have growing to do. It is not always us that is the issue.
